Can I remove the memory card from my old iPhone 5? Posted: 16 Sep 2020 02:54 AM PDT I've forgotten my passcode to my old iPhone 5 but want to get the pictures out of it. Can I take it apart and get the SD card or whatever component contains the pictures and transfer them to my computer via some kind of reader? [link] [comments] |
Google Maps constantly gives me poor directions. Why and how do i fix it? Posted: 15 Sep 2020 03:29 PM PDT Here is example: https://imgur.com/2dJpDA3 There is a bridge in the middle that takes only 5 mins, but google maps doesnt give me routes over the bridge even though its a highly used bridge. I used the app and took the bridge anyways, as its my normal route, and as it was updating the route while I approached the bridge, it kept rerouting to side streets instead of taking the bridge. I've been testing google maps recently and it seems like it almost always give me slower and longer routes, such as taking feeder roads instead of freeways. I've been noticing this for a while now. Is there anything I can do to fix it, or is there a reason why the program is giving directions like this now? [link] [comments] |
How to create static DHCP for Vodafone router? Posted: 16 Sep 2020 02:42 AM PDT Im at the DHCP settings page but im not sure how I go about creating a static DHCP which I can use to give my watch, ive read You'd add your watches MAC to a defined IP in your LAN's range, usually referred to as Static IP or Static DHCP – which of these options do I add my watches MAC to a defined IP? https://i.imgur.com/rOs6ls0.png [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Sep 2020 02:40 AM PDT Facing a situation where I need to call people who often do not live where they have internet. Ideally I want a solution that lets you call a patient through their mobile network, but this solution records the call you have. A lot of native apps do not allow for this because of privacy restrictions, but things like Skype still might. [link] [comments] |
iPhone Test Benches During Apple Event? Posted: 15 Sep 2020 11:37 AM PDT Is it me, or do these look like iPhone test benches? I doubt Apple would leak the iPhone 12 like this, but it's interesting. Figured someone here would know more than I would. [link] [comments] |
"Speaker" Audio Playing Into Headphones Posted: 15 Sep 2020 11:03 PM PDT An issue popped up randomly recently and I'm having a hard time finding answers, in part because I don't know how to describe it. My speakers on my laptop aren't that great, so I use headphones most of the time. For some reason though, when I plug my headphones recently, it almost sounds as if the audio from my speakers is playing to my headphones. It's odd. When I connect them to the laptop it recognizes it and asks me if their headphones or headset etc., I say headphones, but then when I click in the audio icon it says its playing through the speakers. It's realllllllly annoying, my headphones sound very off. And yes, I'm sure it's the laptop. Plz help. P.S. I'm on windows 10 home. [link] [comments] |
I would like to use application on a remote machine on the local machine that I am on. Posted: 15 Sep 2020 10:37 PM PDT The title says what I would like to do but I don't know how to do the do. I have 8+ machine that all do different things but each one requires the same utilities such as media player, unzip, pdf reader, OSB etc. I don't want to install these apps on 8+ machines but on just one machine and give the 8+ machines access to the utilities. I have always known it as an application server but when I do searches I get results like virtual desktop, remote desktop, publishing to the server among other names/phrases. To me each of these are totally different things. So, what is it called that I would like to do? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 15 Sep 2020 09:21 PM PDT Hey, I've purchased a mobile phone last week that says Gorilla Glass 5 in its specs and the device came with a tempered glass sticked to its screen. But the tempered glass sucks, I have the desert-like hand and still I can't swipe properly. I'm thinking of replacing it but wondering if it's the tempered glass that is Gorilla Glass or the screen itself is. Surely, I wouldn't want to waive the enhanced protection. What's the deal here? Best KVM switch for two Macbook Pros sharing one monitor, keyboard, and mouse? Posted: 15 Sep 2020 03:22 PM PDT Heya! So I have two MBPs (one personal, one for work) sharing a keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Both laptops are connecting to the monitor via HDMI. I know there are a lot of switches out there for this type of thing but trying to keep the budget around $100CAD (if possible) and everything I am seeing on amazon is either 1. total overkill for what I need, or 2. using USB 2.0 ports (why the hell is that anyway?). Basically just want to hit the switch and toggle between both laptops seamlessly. Anyhoo, wide open to suggestions/recommendations!! Thanks [link] [comments] |
Issues connecting steam account to FACEIT Posted: 15 Sep 2020 02:49 PM PDT I've verified and logged into FACEIT, but I'm having trouble connecting my steam account to it in order to play cs:go. I click "CONNECT STEAM", type in my username and password and click "Sign in", then steam guard asks me to enter my email code that i got, i type that in and hit "Submit", and it says "Success! you now have access to your steam account here." but when i click "Proceed to steam, it says "Sorry! An error was encountered while processing your request: Incorrect login" I don't understand what the problem is. my steam info is correct, I've verified, and it says that i logged in, but then that my login is wrong?? Please help, this is frustrating. [link] [comments] |
How do perspective shift glitches happen in cellphone videos? Posted: 15 Sep 2020 02:32 PM PDT Has anyone ever noticed this? When watching old videos, often times those shot on old cellphones, sometimes there are strange perspective shift glitches. I realize that videos can be edited, perhaps for copyright or other reasons, but also sometimes it really seems like a glitch. If so, what causes it? Is it a software malfunction? Hardware, maybe an image stabilizer? I find it distracting sometimes when watching videos, but I never thought to ask. [link] [comments] |

Creating a playlist MP3/Winamp Posted: 15 Sep 2020 07:48 AM PDT Im like 20 years behind. Here is what I do; I find my song on youtube, convert to MP3, add it to my winamp playlist, and then move all my MP3 files to my flash drive to play in my car. Is this still the best/easiest way? I feel like after 20 years, there's probably an easier way, that's my question :) Thank you! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Sep 2020 10:18 AM PDT I have no idea how this tech works but I have a feeling that current 5G chips inside the smartphones are like a prototype thing and I feel like its gonna get more refined in the future. BTW I'm planning to buy a new Pixel 4a and I live in india so wer not gonna get a 5G variant here, Google made it official. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Sep 2020 10:18 AM PDT I've seen a lot of videos where lack of a m2 port is worked around by getting a caddy(?) For the optical drive which is replaced with it and in it the desired drive is put. Can I 1. Do it with an AIO PC? 2. My PC has a HDD by default, can I replace it with a SSD and do the above step? MP3 player recommendations alzheimers Posted: 15 Sep 2020 09:46 AM PDT Hey guys , I'm looking to find any recommendations on a good Easy to use MP3 player for my father who has early onset of Alzheimer's, he has a iPhone but only can call on it and has had trouble listening to music on it recently. Looking for something he can just push a button and listen to some bob Dylan, any recommendations are appreciated as well as any inexpensive over the ear headphones for 50 or under to pair with it. Thanks in advance. 🙏 [link] [comments] |
Which MacBook is better? (Air vs Pro) Posted: 15 Sep 2020 09:38 AM PDT I'm looking to get a MacBook but I don't know if I need an air or pro. I'm not going to be using it particularly often or strenuously - it's only for work, i.e word documents and google and stuff. I'll also be using various music applications like GarageBand and Sibelius too. I need something light and cheap (as I'll be taking it to work) but of course it needs to run the fore mentioned apps too. [link] [comments] |
