Building a web contact form: Which technologies to use? Posted: 18 Sep 2020 03:09 AM PDT I would like to host a website, which offers the possibility to leave your contact details there(a classic contact form). This data should then be stored in a DB. In addition, I would like the webiste to be accessible and prefilled with scanning a QR-Code. Since I am an ABAP developer for several years and not up to date with the latest technologies, my questions are: Which technologies should I use for the above described requirement? Or are there maybe online tools which I can use for this requirement? [link] [comments] |
Overlaying Compression Artefacts to a HDMI Stream? Posted: 18 Sep 2020 02:37 AM PDT If there's a more suitable sub for this question let me know, sorry! So in essence, basically what I want to do is take a HDMI stream of a video game outputted from my PC, add some compression artefacts (through some sort of MitM-type attack), and send the new stream to a monitor. (This is for research purposes, I'm not a sadist who enjoys playing low quality streams) In terms of hardware, since latency is quite an important factor for what I'm doing, I'm assuming some sort of FPGA setup would be my best option? Something like this looks quite promising: https://www.adafruit.com/product/609 Anyone ever used one? The video stream doesn't necessarily have to be HDMI, but it does need to be at least something like 1080p if that's not a dealbreaker. In terms of actually adding the artefacts, I'm at a loss. I've got some programming skills and I've used both VHDL and Verilog before but I wouldn't know where to start. Does anyone know of any similar work being done that would send me in the right direction? I should add that I'm hoping to do this with a triple monitor setup, so I know I'll need one FPGA or whatever type of capture card I use for each, but at this moment I'm presuming that's not an issue. Thanks so much in advance! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Sep 2020 06:02 PM PDT Hello, the house I am currently renting also includes a smaller house in the back that doesn't receive reception from my internet router so what I am trying to figure out is what do I need so I can install another router in that house and if I don't have any of those requirements, how easy would it be to set them up? Thank you for your time. [link] [comments] |

3rd Party Ipad Pro cases potentially harmful to the device/screen? Posted: 18 Sep 2020 01:55 AM PDT Just bought a new ipad pro 2020 and havn't decided on which case to buy yet. The original seem way too overpriced tbh, the smartfolios. But i had an ipad years ago and bought a cheap case and it developed a clouding error on the screen, that obviously didn't go away. I've also now read alot about the magnets often times being stronger in 3rd party cases, which is marketed as a good thing apparently, but i'm on the fence about that. Could someone with the technical know-how clarify that for me a little? Thank you! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Sep 2020 11:28 PM PDT What role does a cpu "base frequency " play in the real world.. I'm looking at a intel 10700 that has a max frequency of 4.8 ghz ..but a base of a low 2.9 ghz ...(even a ryzen 5 base clock is 3.6- and the chip cost like 200 bucks less) .. does the base clock mean it's a slower chip than the ryzen 5 and other chips with higher base clocks? Would they know it's Microwave Internet? Posted: 17 Sep 2020 10:23 PM PDT Forgive me if verbage is off... Not my wheelhouse. My company requires DSL/cable based internet to work from home, which I currently have and do. They specifically state Satalite ISPs and Cellular is unacceptable. I will be moving into the Mountains soon where a very reputable 'Fixed Wireless Microwave' internet provider is prominent. Assuming well maintained and not over saturated with users and a functional service, could an employer know your type of internet and whether or not your compliant? Ultimately it's because we use Softphones and they want a stable connection. Given the low latency of Microwave is seems an acceptable service in my eyes. My concern is if they can truly 'know' your style of provider, and if so does microwave read different than Satalite or Cellular or the same. For equipment I us a company computer that hard wires into my own Router/Modem combo. [link] [comments] |

Bought led light bulb with wifi support, doesn’t work with 5Ghz wifi Posted: 17 Sep 2020 07:51 PM PDT So bought a led bulb that is suppose to connect to wifi. But found out it doesn't work with 5ghz wifi, only 2.4Ghz. So what are my options to get these bulbs working? They are suppose to be able to be controlled using phone. But my modem only has a 5Ghz connection. So need to supply a 2.4Ghz connection to get them to work. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |

Is it hard for providers to enable WiFi calling? Posted: 17 Sep 2020 04:34 PM PDT It's 2020 and my provider still doesn't support WiFi calling. It would eb fine if my house didn't have shit service, is this hard for a provider to do? I'd think its all server based and way easier than installing a cell tower or am I wrong? [link] [comments] |

Why do I have bad connection on Zoom when my internet speed is good? Posted: 17 Sep 2020 12:27 PM PDT My zoom calls often experience lag with slight disruptions every 20 seconds to audio and video. My zoom will also drop calls and reconnect after 5 minutes probably once per day. After performing internet speed tests on various platforms, I get 120+ mbps download; 10+ mbps upload; and 20 or below ping. I use a wired connection directly with my router. What can I do to improve this? [link] [comments] |
Unable to pair Samsung tablet to Microsoft wireless dongle for screen mirrorcast Posted: 17 Sep 2020 12:17 PM PDT Please help! I am unable to connect my Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 sm-t820 to my Microsoft wireless dongle to screen mirror from the tab to the monitor or television the Microsoft dongle is connected to. The wireless dongle is recognized by the Galaxy Tab, and both the dongle and the tablet are connected to the wifi. I have tried to go through the tablets settings to connect, as well as downloaded the Samsung Smart View app, but they will not connect. What else can you suggest? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Sep 2020 06:40 AM PDT A bar will be split in half with one side in the U.K. and the other half in the Southern Hemisphere. Where the bar has been spilt will be a large screen taking up the whole wall it'll show a direct live stream of the other half of the bar. So it will look like it's just one continues building but in fact each half is in a separate hemisphere? Sorry if that sounds confusing ahaha [link] [comments] |
