Transmitting video in real time without cell service or WiFi. Possible?

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 09:06 PM PDT

    Hello,

Like the title says, I want to transmit video from a camera to any type of receiver in real time without access to wifi or cell service. Is this possible in any way?

To be even more specific, I want to send a camera down a hole below ground and have it transmit video to me in real time at the surface.

Can anyone thing of a way to accomplish this?

    Thank you!

    Is it worth it?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2020 05:10 AM PDT

So I'm trying to buy a headset for my phone... (for music and game)

and i want to ask if is it worth it to buy expensive headphones for it

and using the expensive headphones on pc and on the phone, does it sound different? like earbuds have around 14mm drivers and headphones have more than 40mm

For example like a Razer Blackshark

Does the surround sound work on it? Or is it just the same as the other normal earbuds (surround sound wise)

Can transistors work in two directions, positive or negative on the output?

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 09:39 PM PDT

I suspect not, but haven't found a clear answer. Can I set up a circuit where the current can flow "clockwise" and also "counterclockwise" with the transistor? Such as having a voltage on the emitter with the high output going to either the base or the collector (did my source mislabel these? seems odd to have the input called emitter and output called collector)? Or some other way?

Why is my gaming pc loading web pages 2 times faster than my laptop?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2020 12:22 AM PDT

    Hi,

I really would like to know why my gaming pc is loading web pages so much faster than my laptop, like, sometimes 2 times faster!

I have done those comparisons both with erhernet cable.

    The specs are:

    Pc: Ryzen 5 3600, ssd, 2x 8gb ddr4 3000 Laptop: i5 6200u, ssd, 2x 4gb ddr4 2133

Will the laptop be as fast with an usb wifi receiver? Or what causes this difference?

    Thank you!

I have 2 SSDs, a fast one and a slower one

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 08:20 PM PDT

What happens if I download a game on the slower one cause I have limited space on the faster one, would it boot on the faster or slower one?

    Accessing DVD audiotracks

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 06:36 PM PDT

So i recently bought a collector's DVD box set of The Clone Wars. I heard that this specific set had all of the dubs for the show, and there's one that ive been wanting to find, but the problem is that the disc apparently won't actually show all the available audio options depending on your video player's region or something? The person who found this dub said you needed to use the computer to access it. Unfortunately, i'm technology illiterate and am hoping y'all will be able to help me. I also might have just been lied to, but who knows?

This is actually baffling me: new mouse pad seems to work fine when booted in Windows, but on MacOS the same mouse has a lot of issues tracking on it?

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 10:51 AM PDT

So I thought I was crazy for a little bit, because this honestly doesn't make any sense to me.

To start, my hardware / Software I'm using:

    - Dual-boot Windows / MacOS (Hackintosh)

(I've looked into everything regarding my USB ports, and so far as I can tell they shouldn't be the issue? but I did have a theory that the ports aren't being powered as highly on macOS due to Hackintosh wonkiness. I don't think this should be the case, as I think I've gotten them straightened out)

    - Logitech G305 is my mouse - Logitech mouse software is being used on both Windows/MacOS. Mouse acceleration disabled in both OS

    - if it matters: Intel i7 4790k CPU, Nvidia GTX 980 GPU (disabled in macOS, uses the integrated GPU on there) 16GB of RAM

I recently got an aluminum mouse pad (found out they were a thing recently and really wanted to give it a try for curiosity's sake, turns out I love them)

Now this mouse pad works great on windows doing whatever. I've played games with it, done web browsing, and it's incredibly smooth doesn't have issues with my optical mouse, etc. I even think it feels smoother in games than any mouse pad that I've used before

However, when I boot into macOS and don't change anything else, the mouse is extremely stuttery, it's almost like the mouse is off for a couple of seconds here and there. Upon further experimenting, I've found that if the pad is immaculately clean it works very well with macOS, but of course oils from hands, sweat, etc. will get on the pad over the course of using it, and if it's not immaculately clean, the mouse just refuses to work with it. but ONLY on macos? If I use it on windows it seems to be much less particular, and if a spec of dust or a fingerprint is on the pad it doesn't seem to mind whatsoever and the mouse is unhindered.

I'll 100% understand any skepticism, and honestly I'm hoping there's an answer that makes more sense because this just baffles me, but the reason I'm certain it's the mouse pad that is the issue here is that it started after getting the new mouse pad, and I've used the mouse on the old pad and just the wood of my desk seconds after watching the mouse stutter like crazy on the aluminum mouse pad and on the old mouse pad or the desk, it works perfectly.

For the record, my computer is a Hackintosh dual-booting with Windows/MacOS

Only difference hardware-wise between booting the two systems is that I use my integrated GPU with macOS. I use the Logitech software with both OS's and the polling rates as well as DPI are equal on both, I believe

My best guess is that the two OS's handle mouse input differently? that maybe the polling rate is somehow read more quickly on Windows? That maybe the aluminum surface poses no issues with windows refreshing the input faster but having it refresh slower makes it a harder surface to track on the mouse?

This is actually the single weirdest issue I've run into

GIGABYTE GeForce 2070 RTX windforce X3 not working on a brand new build.

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 02:46 PM PDT

I'm having trouble installing my new GPU. All of my parts are brand new and, to my knowledge, should be compatible with each other. When I boot up my PC with the 2070 plugged into the motherboard (Asus ROG strix B450-F) it turns on for a second and then shuts off while everything else runs fine. So I temped in my old 1050 GPU and everything works just fine. As I previously mentioned the 2070 is brand new along with all the other parts. Does anyone know how I can fix this issue?

Does SoundCloud sells my usage info?

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 07:23 AM PDT

I just used youtube to listen to a band, let's call it X, and them by using facebook, there it is, a sponsor about that band X. How? Youtube, etc, we know that. If I use SoundCloud to listen to music, will this happen again? Will my information be sold to everyone else? What about Amazon Music? How can I know which companies do this and which doesn't?

Thanks for anyone who can answer :)

    Is my phone glitching out?

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 06:09 AM PDT

While I was in the toilet. I was editing and cropping photo that I screenshoted from wiki Page's comment. And when my Facebook app gave me a notification, my phone suddenly went into the Google's wiki page(the place that I took a screen shot) from photo app. I don't know how is that possible. I mean the only way you can switch apps is that you have to exit the app and went into the other app or press hamburger button (three lines icon near home button) . Is my phone glitching out?

    Unknown Number Text

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 08:53 AM PDT

I received a text from an unknown number and when I called the number I reached my friend. She denied sending the text, saying she and three family members share the cloud so it must have been one of them. The phone number no longer rings to my friend's or her family members' phones. It seems like an anonymous text app was used to me, but I am not familiar with them so I can't be sure. Why would the number reach my friend and not the family member who sent the text if what she is saying is true?
