How does Amazon X-ray feature works?

    Posted: 30 Aug 2020 10:14 PM PDT

So, if you're using Amazon prime for some streaming, You might be knowing that it has this feature called "X-Ray"... Where you can basically see who's in a particular scene of a series or movie. Not the whole cast, but the only actors who are in that particular scene.

Does anyone have an idea on how it works, Some AI Algorithm, or face recognition? Thank you!

    Logitech combo touch for iPad

    Posted: 31 Aug 2020 12:24 AM PDT

Logitech recently released an amazing keyboard, Logitech Combo Touch, for IPad Air 3. The amazing thing about this keyboard, IMO, is the detachable keyboard that lets the cover have multiple functions and makes the cover weigh less when you are using the tablet for more tabletey things. My girlfriend bought this.

I, however, is the owner of an iPad Pro 11" (2020) which I love. Logitech have released a keyboard similar to the one they offer for the iPad Air 3, but the keyboard is, to my knowledge, not detachable, which I really dislike.

The question is: does anyone know if Logitech has plans of adding this feature to the keyboard, or another keyboard for iPad Pro with the detach-feature.

I am primarily using the iPad for university and having the option of detaching the keyboard when I am reading on the iPad or taking notes by hand is amazing.

    Thanks in advance.

Cellphone has its power drained too quick - how can I know which one is the problem, the battery or the device itself?

    Posted: 30 Aug 2020 11:20 AM PDT

My cellphone sometimes shuts down because of a lack of power even though there's like 40% left on the battery. I'm just wondering whether the battery or the device itself is the issue. I don't really want to just try it with a new battery because I fear it may be the cell phone, just wondering whether there's a way to know it before.

How does a ceramic plate not heat everything up.

    Posted: 30 Aug 2020 10:41 AM PDT

So i cook on a ceramic plate and i am curious what the technology is behind the heating.

If i put a pan on and turn it on it starts heating the pan. The area where the pan sits gets hot, i get that... but how come the plate does not get warm outside that area? How come my control unit is 1 inch from the area of my pan and stays cool to use?

    Recycling laptop webcam to USB

    Posted: 30 Aug 2020 05:37 AM PDT

I have an old Dell XPS PP25L that I'm salvaging for parts. From what I understand, the vast majority of laptops today use the USB protocol for the camera which means that you can rewire the module to a USB cable and it will work as a webcam, but this camera has 7 wires. Is it still possible to do this using only some of the wires? The camera's model# is CN-0KP618. Any help would be appreciated!

My home Internet use just doubled without having added any new devices and Comcast says we're reaching a datacap. How can I check to see where the use is going?

    Posted: 30 Aug 2020 10:14 AM PDT

My wife and I both work from home these days and it hasn't been a problem; we used less than about 500GB of data every month. In fact, less than 400. But August suddenly had a jump to nearly 1.1TB. In fact, I woke up to an alert from XFinity saying we used up 75% of data and 3 hours later, another alert saying 90%. How can I check to see if there's a leak?

We have an AppleTV, 2-3 computers, 2 phones, a few other gadgets attached to our Apple Airport but I don't see anything that's using more data than it ever used before. Netflix and Amazon video use is maybe 1 hour every day. The only real change has been the AppleTV which replaced an old Roku. But unless it's streaming while I'm sleeping, it can't really use 800GB of data a month can it?

    Basic USB Flash Drive

    Posted: 30 Aug 2020 01:56 PM PDT

Hi all, I have been looking for a 8GB or 16GB or 32GB USB 3 flash drive to use for emergencies on my laptop or to reinstall Windows. However, looking at Amazon reviews makes me feel like major products from major brands all have their problems: Sandisk, Samsung, PNY, Kingston; ranging from excessive heat, USB2 (read/write) speeds, disappearing drives, and read-only states. Any recommendations?

What WiFi extender do you recommend?

    Posted: 30 Aug 2020 05:14 PM PDT

Looking to purchase a WiFi extender because of spotty WiFi in one room of my house and also would like wifi to extend further into my backyard. Any advice would be great. I have read a bunch of reviews on quite a few of them but I never really know which one to trust since they all have great and poor reviews.

I'm thinking about buying a wireless router or mesh. Sometimes the wifi lag in other rooms. My house is rectangle shape and the end is the garage on the side. They separate. The modem is at the front of the house. I want the wifi coverage the house and the garage.

Is Xenyx 502USB enough for Shure SM58?

    Posted: 30 Aug 2020 09:43 AM PDT

Hey, so I was wondering if this budget duo can go together. I don't want to spend to much so mixer that is 30 Euros and dynamic mic that is 90 euros seems pretty ideal.
Question is if Xenyx 502 provides enough power for the mic?
If you have any idea, experience please let me know.
Btw, usage is just for streaming/gaming not singing etc. :)

    Referral payments huh?

    Posted: 30 Aug 2020 03:29 PM PDT

    Hi everyone,

when going to the shop today the card machines were playing up.

I payed using a referral method but the money hasn't came out of my account yet even tho the machine are fully working again?

Step by step what happened • Inserted Card • Entered Pin • Got told a referral menu came up on the till • Lady put the date (300820 told by manager) in the referral box • Card approved that's it

Why has the money not been deducted from my account?

Do they have to do it manually because the machines were offline at the time?

Does it store my card data for the transaction??

    Intel 660p - PCIe 2 vs PCIe 3

    Posted: 30 Aug 2020 08:17 AM PDT

So I am running an X99 board, and it has a single PCIe 2.0 slot that is currently not used, but I was expanding my storage and I'm about to need to shift an NVME to this port here.

I know it's half the throughput, but I was wondering if a low performance drive like this is going to be affected by having less bandwidth? I can't seem to find info online and would like a bit of insight before I start moving stuff around as the case is not super accessible.

    Thanks in advance!

I have my newly installed router from a Irish ISP A, can I take the router from my previous company Irish ISP B and set it up as a repeater unit? What kind of challenges may I face?

    Posted: 30 Aug 2020 05:09 AM PDT

Both routers came straight from their respective companies
