How to select which audio to record during screenrecording Posted: 01 Sep 2020 02:26 AM PDT Not sure if this is the right sub, but here it goes. Because of corona and homeschooling I enrolled in an extra course. This courses are held over zoom and are overlapping. One of these is interactive and the other is just a lecture, but the lecturere wont record them herself. Will I be able to turn on two zoom meetings and participating in one and recording the other whilst keeping the audio seperated? [link] [comments] |
Want to make an order displaying app. Posted: 01 Sep 2020 02:16 AM PDT Actually, my friend owes a Marble-Granite showroom. Where now they've to take a note of customer's order on a piece of paper, and then that piece of paper to be handed over to the workers to deliver the desired product. Instead of this, we want a system which can take a note of this things and that list of orders to be shown on a another display led. It should work like below:
This seems same as we have it at MC Donald's or Burger-King where the counter person takes note of the orders which directly get rendered to the chef who have to make that particular orders. I'm just thinking of making one kind of this, as it will be my first real-world project contribution and I'll get to learn some more new things. Any suggestions are please warmly welcome, I even prefer Django or flask if needed. Can refer any opensource or online tool also here. Infact, any helpful resource is widely accepted. Can anyone recommend Softphone software for a business? Posted: 31 Aug 2020 02:33 PM PDT Hi there! Looking for suggestions for Softphone software I can recommend for use for work. Will initally have about 400-500 people using this. We currently use Bria but are looking for something with a web portal so our IT team doesn't have to remote in to set up applications. Also need to be able to keep our current SIP provider. Not looking for a host, just usable software. Appreciate any help/suggestions! [link] [comments] |
I need to swap one router with another but I really have no clue Posted: 31 Aug 2020 11:46 PM PDT So basically the title, can anyone give me a walkthrough? Sorry, they arent new-already installed. Forgot to mention that. [link] [comments] |
Is usb-c to usb-c the fastest charging option? Posted: 31 Aug 2020 11:09 PM PDT I bought a portable charger I use it quite often. It has two USB ports, a micro usb, and a usb-c port. They are all blue, which I know for regular USB ports, mean they are the USB 3.0 (or 3.1??). What doe blue usb-c and micro ports mean? I charge it with the usb-c port, connected through regular usb to a wall charger. Now I know the wall charger amps affect charging speed of devices, so would it be better to use a usb-c wall charger, and a usb-c to usb-c cord to charge the battery? Would it also be better to use a usb-c to usb-c cord to charge other devices from the battery? Any info y'all could give me with this would be great, as well as any additional info you think might help me understand all this. Thanks for any help, much appreciated!! [link] [comments] |
5G and Ethernet Cable Question Posted: 31 Aug 2020 10:36 PM PDT My gaming pc is pretty old so it couldn't connect to 5G Wifi Internet so I bought an adapter to be able to do just that. It works well and all but my question is if I connect a Ethernet cable would my pc be able to use 5G through that? Wifi is too unreliable in my area so I want to connect through cable for stable connection but I'm scared if I will lose my 5G access. [link] [comments] |

What is the easiest idiot-proof Linux distro to use? Posted: 31 Aug 2020 02:42 PM PDT edit: I'm going to go with Linux Mint. While I'm not a total idiot when it comes to computers, I'm not all that knowledgeable when it comes to command prompt. While a large part of that is inexperience, I would rather as seamless a transition from Windows as possible. I will be dual booting Linux with Win7 because, while Proton has come a long way in terms of game compatibility, I know that not all games will work with Linux. Win7 will help allow me to figure stuff out. It's also easier to use because of the following reasons:
While I do know about SteamOS, I would rather an OS with more traditional computer features as I'm using Linux because Win7 isn't being updated as frequently (if at all) anymore. I don't want to use Win10 for the following reasons:

Posted: 31 Aug 2020 02:09 PM PDT So this is probably a very stupid question but I cannot figure it out. Is it possible to connect an all in one pc (Lenovo ideacentre 510-23ASR) to laptop (ASUS q504u 2 in 1 laptop) and use either of them as a second monitor? I'll be working from home and will need to use a remote desktop type of deal for most of the day and would love to use either screen as just a monitor. tia [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Aug 2020 10:43 AM PDT i have a laptop that was used for school, which has school issued software on it. its a program called workbook thats used for digital learning essentially (it didnt work for shit though, and people always hacked it) ive tried restoring the laptop back to factory settings, but once its 'finished' it says 'there was a problem, nothing has changed' or something along those lines. im suspecting it has to do with either the software or something the school installed on the laptops or whatever does anyone know how to get rid of this software? im not a tech-savvy person, hence why im asking here. as for the logistics of why i need the laptop resetted. lets just say the school fucked me over, and since i was forced to pay full amount for a crappy secondhand laptop ive decided that it is now my laptop after leaving [link] [comments] |
why are we using water to power turbines? Posted: 31 Aug 2020 06:08 AM PDT overall what could be changed to increase efficiency in the process of power generation? would heavier gas have better push on the turbines? would a lower boiling point or higher pressure be better? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Aug 2020 09:25 AM PDT I need some advice on buying a used MacBook. I preferably a pro. I'm used to having a MacBook Pro from a previous relationship. The speed and reliability, plus the benefits of already owning an iPhone makes it the ideal choice for me. The questions I have are: Is there a reputable way to buy a used/Apple refurbished MacBook? If I buy off a seller, can/will Apple run through it for me to ensure it's a good pc? Can Apple fully wipe and reinstall software on it to get rid of possible hidden malware or other mischievous programs? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 31 Aug 2020 07:33 AM PDT I don't want to give away my personal email, but hypothetically speaking let's say it is smith.john@gmail.com (with a period between last and first name). Periodically I receive emails that have been sent to smithjohn@gmail.com (similar to mine but without the period in between my last and first name). At first I wrote it off as a weird glitch when it happened a couple years ago... I kept getting emails from this person's friend, and it showed they were being sent to smithjohn but somehow arriving in my smith.john inbox. I would reply each time and let her know they were being sent to me, and his friend kept apologizing and saying she didn't understand why I was receiving them. But it continues to happen periodically with other senders, too. Last week I received a registration email from a very well known student loan financing company, and the "to" line of the email showed this other person's smithjohn address, not my smith.john one...yet it still showed up in my inbox. I am actually already a customer of theirs (due to my own student loans) and have my email linked to my account already, so it was quite bizarre. I reported it to the company, but I have a feeling this is an issue on Google's end where for some reason they are forwarding me emails for this other person because our addresses are so similar. I don't believe it to be a hacking or phishing attempt as the emails I receive intended for this other person with my name always seem to be genuine. My question is... Is this even possible?! Is it possible that the email servers are accidentally forwarding me emails for this other person? Is it possible that certain servers are somehow adding a period when in transit and those emails are coming to my address instead? It's virtually impossible to get ahold of Google customer service so I thought this might be my best bet at getting an educated answer. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 31 Aug 2020 06:04 AM PDT Whenever I transfer files to my sd card, their date turns into Jan 1, 1970. Why is that? And is there any way to set it back to its original date? [link] [comments] |
