Why don't wifi signals intercept with each other? Posted: 29 May 2020 03:41 AM PDT I got 2 Wifi routers for different purposes , both are at 2.4ghz , I wonder why doesn't one router affect the other even when they have the same frequencies [link] [comments] |
Why is Wlan 2,4GHz and not 2,5GHz? Posted: 29 May 2020 02:10 AM PDT It would sound better and is half of 5GHz, so why is it 2,4GHz? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 May 2020 10:11 AM PDT I know that physically compatible barrel shaped power connectors weren't standardized by size vs voltage and polarity, and could result in accidentally bricking a device (voltage too high, polarity wrong) or in a device that appears to partially work but be erratic (voltage or current capacity too low, the latter could brick the adapter eventually as well) Power over USB seemed like a step in the right direction in terms of mitigating the adapter compatibility question and more importantly, preventing your device from becoming a brick (or worse, a bomb due to an exploding battery) since anyone who wanted to use the USB logo was required to follow the pin out and voltage standard. However, I looked at the Nintendo Switch charger and saw that it lists 2 voltage outputs: 5 volts and 15 volts. On the surface, that seems like a massive step backwards. Is there something in the USB-C standard where the 15 volt is a separate pin that is simply un-populated on the device/socket end if the device in question doesn't use 15 volts? Or, does the adapter "read" a configuration pin or something to "know" whether to turn on the 15-volt bus or not? [link] [comments] |
Is it possible to create a semi-functional copy of a Digital Bank Statement? Posted: 29 May 2020 12:29 AM PDT I'm not looking to commit fraud- I just want a mirror of my bank account digital statement. I'd like to show this to my father but conceal certain things for fear they can put me. [link] [comments] |

Question about Buffalo NAS connecting to a Mac Posted: 28 May 2020 08:46 PM PDT I have a 15 yr-old Buffalo LS-500GL NAS on my home network, with all my music on it. It still connects fine to Sonos and plays the music OK, so it's on the network OK - but I can no longer connect to it (to add new music) with my iMac or MacBook. Has something happened where it's now out of compliance with OS X? The symptom when trying to connect is that it asks for a username and password - and previously (for 15 years) I just select Guest and my iMac connects ok. Is this a firmware type thing, and OS X (I'm on Catalina 10.15.5) has gone past the point where this device is still supported? [link] [comments] |
Will Preexisting OS Mess Up New OS On Separate drive? Posted: 28 May 2020 04:26 PM PDT I'm planning on buying a new motherboard and cpu. I have windows 10 installed on my hard drive. If I clean install windows on my ssd, will the copy of windows on my hard drive mess up the one on my ssd? [link] [comments] |
Are there tablets on the market that I can plug into a 4k monitor and keyboard? Posted: 28 May 2020 06:48 PM PDT Are there tablets on the market that I can plug into a 4k monitor and keyboard? [link] [comments] |
Use monitors for work laptop and personal macbook Posted: 28 May 2020 04:57 PM PDT Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask. How can I use the same monitors to use with both my work laptop (Dell) and my personal macbook? I don't need to use them at the same time. I know I can switch the cables around for both docking stations but was hoping there's an all-in-one solution. A PC & Mac docking station? [link] [comments] |
Are the Radeon RX580 drivers working? Posted: 28 May 2020 03:54 PM PDT Hello. I want to buy a new pc with a Radeon RX580 GPU, but I have read online that the drivers are causing some problems like crashing mid-game, black screens. Are they working now? If they are not, what Nvidia is similar to it in terms of quality and price? [link] [comments] |
Is the LG V60 ThinQ a good phone for an audiophile? Posted: 28 May 2020 03:48 PM PDT I'm a huge music person in search of a new phone when I came across the LG V60 ThinQ. In my research it says the headphone jack has a '32-bit HiFi quad DAC'... thing. I'm wondering if this is actually worth it. Cause apparently the phones software has minor problems. So basically if this phone offers better audio quality compared to others than I think it's worth dealing with the minor software problems. If not I'll get the Galaxy S10. [link] [comments] |
How to share a large number of photos with family and friends? Posted: 28 May 2020 03:18 PM PDT My thought is to find a way to host the photo files locally on my home network and have a web-based service that will display them nicely in a gallery. I don't want to spend any money on something that realistically will be viewed a few times and then be forgotten. We are digitizing my FIL collection of slides and want to make it available to viewing. Turns out we will have about 7000 (7k) images. Since it will be limited to a dozen people or so, bandwidth will not be an issue. I hope to get ideas from this esteemed collective. [link] [comments] |

Is there a normal stylus for Samsung Tab A? Posted: 28 May 2020 06:25 AM PDT I recently got a Tab A WITHOUT S Pen and I read that the s pen wouldn't work with it if I buy it separately. So is there another type of pen I could use? [link] [comments] |
What happens when you make multiple claims under a product’s lifetime warranty? Posted: 28 May 2020 11:29 AM PDT Been seeing a lot of good things about Anker because of their lifetime warranty then had this question. Will the manufacturer keep fulfilling your request and fix the product you currently own, send you a new one, etc.? Can the manufacturer reject the claim even though the product you received is defective and is still under lifetime warranty? [link] [comments] |
Galaxy S20 5G Ultra or iPhone 11 ProMax Posted: 28 May 2020 10:05 AM PDT Discuss. I have an upgrade soon and would like some input. I noticed the specs of the S20 are much better looking, but besides the fact that the S20 is 5G ready, can anyone else make arguments on which phone is better? Im really only torn bc most of my friends have an iPhone and sharing things/airdrop etc is very convenient, sorry if I sound like a tech noob. Apologies mods if this isnt the right sub. Posted: 28 May 2020 08:43 AM PDT I currently have an iPhone 7 I am satisfied with it as a phone. However, I am home all of time and I consume probably 90% of my media through youtube/streaming/social media on my phone at home, and I'm constantly charging my iPhone 7, and I know it's somewhat behind display-wise (though I don't really mind it tbh). The ideal solution would be something like an android phone, but without the phone. I have been looking online and it's hard to find something that isn't a tablet (I highly prefer the phone form factor). I am assuming this means my best option is to get an android phone and use it without service. In this case, I would like to spend as little as possible while still getting a decent bump is the battery life and display (don't care about camera, or even processing speed) Any recommendations? Posted: 28 May 2020 08:33 AM PDT I didn't open anything wrong or snoop but I did open up a file that contained the benefits of the company and I'm only an intern so I'm worried if they see that they'll think I'm snooping. Should I be worried? Can they see if I open a folder or a file? [link] [comments] |
Software Tool to Document Mandatory Employee COVID Questionnaires Posted: 28 May 2020 07:06 AM PDT In NY, as part of reopening, the state is requiring employers to perform daily survey's of employees about symptoms and contact and such that need to be recorded each day. There is also requirements for confidentiality and time min and max for keeping this date. Does anyone know of a software or service that can perform this survey of employees digitally to minimize the paperwork burden for the employer? [link] [comments] |
