What is better, connecting Ethernet via gig port power line adapter or 5g WiFi? Posted: 28 Dec 2019 01:18 AM PST Just wanting to know what I should stay on. I experience packet loss on both so I'm wondering if they are the same or one is better than the other [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Dec 2019 05:40 PM PST my question is, are the helmets from the "Space Buccaneers" series of digital art by Johnson Ting or related styles of helmets possible in real life? are they available to the public even? and if they arent, is there any way to plausably make one with hardware store LEDs or maybe with a display bought off of amazon? (image related: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/AqDaX ) thanks for all the responses! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 28 Dec 2019 02:31 AM PST Hey I'm using blue stacks to play a mobile poker site and I'm rotating my monitor directly to the left up aka 180 degrees up and down, because it works perfectly with the site, but ofc the mouse directions are all stuffed then, is there a way to change my mouse directions so they will be usable? Thanks [link] [comments] |

What specs am I looking for on my laptop? Posted: 27 Dec 2019 12:05 PM PST I want to just stream videos, download videos, have many tabs open at once and I don't want lagging in my videos when I do this. Does performing those tasks take processor power? Or GPU power? I am trying to learn what specs I need to be looking for rather than just asking to suggest a laptop. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Dec 2019 07:03 PM PST I am looking to build a pc for a price at most $1200, i chose the core i7 as my cpu and after pucking the rest of my parts, i noticed i had little money left for a gpu, the most affordable gpu that i can get is a RTX 2060. Would it be a bad idea to pair a core i7 with a 2060 gpu, or should i go down to a core i5 for for a better gpu? [link] [comments] |
Deleted instagram profile photo — no copy. How do I find it? Posted: 27 Dec 2019 07:00 PM PST Hi! I accidentally deleted my profile photo on Instagram. I no longer have the original copy, and I can't find it anywhere (or hear an answer from Instagram). Any clue how to find it? Thank you! [link] [comments] |

M.2 NVMe vs regular SSDs for Video Editing (Premiere)? Posted: 27 Dec 2019 05:21 PM PST I am trying to work with/playback 4k 60 fps footage. I've noticed that I'm getting jittery playback on both Premiere and exported Premiere video files when playing back from my 3 year old 2 TB HDD. When I transfer some clips to my 3 year old SSD (250 GB) I get none of those jitters. Pretty huge difference. So, now that I've decided to upgrade to a SSD 2 + TB drive, I need to decide: regular or one of those new m.2 NVMe drives. I've heard the latter is WAY faster, but, I've also heard some editors say it's not worth the price yet as most people won't need those speed bumps yet. So, what's the verdict? Even for a few years of future proofing, am I wasting money on an m.2 NVMe? Should I just buy a larger regualr SSD? [link] [comments] |
iPad vs laptop for students in a classroom Posted: 27 Dec 2019 05:12 PM PST There is a non-profit organization that is looking to get some devices for their students so that they can do research, read material, work on excel sheets (possibly from gsuite) and general educational things. The manager seems set to just get everyone iPads, where I see them as not very good for that and am trying to suggest cheap laptops (not chromebooks) that cost about the same. I'm trying to build a case in iPad vs Laptop and am looking for suggestions, or even if someone wants to defend the iPad option, I'm open minded but trying to understand cost of devices, support, maintenance/repair as well as usage, durability, greater support of applications, etc. Any info would help [link] [comments] |
Looking to upgrade from a Droid turbo any suggestions? Posted: 27 Dec 2019 01:47 PM PST |
Posted: 27 Dec 2019 06:45 AM PST It happens to me about half the time I try to get WiFi from a public source like a train, or airport that I agree to the terms of service and the WiFi still doesn't work. It continues to say "unsecure network". Other times it works. Other people in the train seem to be able to use the WiFi. The websites don't even ask me to make an account. I'll click past seemingly all the checked boxes and then when I go to click "done" in the corner, it says "continue without WiFi" or "cancel". I think I'm missing some important step or something. Any advice? [link] [comments] |
Do solar panels convert UV light into electricity ? Posted: 27 Dec 2019 06:41 AM PST Some time ago a teacher said during a lecture that there was reason for panels not to use UV light but I don't remember the reason and I can't find an appropriate explanation now. [link] [comments] |
