What SSD should I use in a PS4?

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 01:52 AM PST

So, I've been planning to switch the HDD from my PS4 pro to a SSD, but I wonder what kind of SSD I should use. Price is not that important, but under 200 is what I'm looking for. If you know bout some please leave a link to it in the comments.

    Thank you

    Posted: 22 Feb 2020 06:07 PM PST

My mom locked herself out of her iPhone, of course she doesn't remember her password nor her security questions (even her birth date was wrong)

Is there any way to restore it

What does a card door lock read when rfid card is used?

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 03:37 AM PST

I have a card for opening doors and I have to provide a password for access. Is it just the serial number that is read and when the serial number is looked up, it will see that it's linked to me?

What’s a notes app that works for windows and iOS that I can also have folders and folders in them etc

I'm gonna go to university (hopefully). When I graduate uni, what would I be able to do with a bachelor's in Computer Science?

    Posted: 22 Feb 2020 05:03 PM PST

My dream is to be a software developer (preferably freelance, although I wouldn't mind working IT/network at a good company somewhere), but is this possible with (at least) a bachelor's in CompSci?

If it matters, the university I'm planning on attending is ASU.

Edot: If it counts, I took Computer Science my freshman year, and I took Computer Science Honors last year. I'm taking Foundations in IT this year, and will take Computer Maintenance and/or AP Principles of Computer Science next year.

    Antenna repair

    Posted: 22 Feb 2020 08:42 PM PST

Hello all, I finally have a question I'm hoping someone here can answer.

On my car I have a cellular antenna on the roof. However, mine has snapped off long ago and the part that snapped off doesn't seem to be an "unscrew and then screw a new one on" sort of thing as is common these days. I attached an imgur album showing what it would look like on top (this one has the protective black plastic cover removed) and below is mine.

    Exposed vs Broken Car Antenna

From what I can tell, the antenna portion was directly part of the cable, meaning to replace the entire thing would mean going through the roof/sides of the car to replace the cabling with it- no small deal.

I can see in the plastic a little bit of the metal recessed in the mount, I was thinking about getting a small antenna (I want to say it was about 3" in length) and use some solder or electrically conductive glue to join it with the metal remnant- would that work? I'm having the system reactivated and am concerned about it being able to get reception without that tip. I know antennas aren't terribly complex things so I hope this is resolvable.

I can add another photo showing better the part where it snapped off if that would help. Any advice/input is appreciated!

(Edit- Also yes I know the gasket is shot, I'm replacing that)

    Bluetooth dongle sync question, Win10.

    Posted: 22 Feb 2020 09:41 PM PST

A few years ago my uncle gave me his old PS4 headset and dongle combo that could be used for both the PS4 and PC. I mainly use it on my PC when I play with friends but I have gotten tired of using a wired connection to plug my Xbox One controller into my PC and read that bluetooth dongles can have multiple devices connected simultaneously. So I would like to sync the dongle to my Xbox controller but the dongle doesn't have one of those "discover" buttons like the Xbox controller does.

I did some dinking around with the Windows 10 settings, though I just upgraded to 10 a few days ago so I'm still trying to learn my way around. I found a setting, once, that mentioned bluetooth and being discoverable but it was like it wasn't registering the USB dongle as being able to do that, IIRC. And looking at device manager I can't tell what thing might be the dongle, and just clicking through some of them I don't even see anything about bluetooth on them.

Can anyone help me out? I wish I new exactly what the device was but the box is long gone. Is it possible I'm running into issues because this was marketed/sold as a pre-paired combo of headset/dongle for PS4?

Quick Edit: I also just remembered that I have an old Logitech mouse that was wireless and has a mini dongle, too. But not sure how to get it to where I can set those to discover hardware.

Cell tower interfering with fixed wireless signal

    Posted: 22 Feb 2020 05:39 PM PST

    Hello!

I have a question that I cannot seem to find an answer to. I live in a Rural area and have been looking to get ATT fixed wireless internet. Brand new tower just put up probably 3-4 miles from my house.

Down the road from my house maybe 1/4 mile is a Verizon Wireless tower. For whatever reason our signal fro the ATT fixed wireless tower will not show during my installation...and no matter what this technician puts in for his sector and tower location ever works. He says the Verizon tower pretty much over powers any signal and wont allow him to set it up.

Question is..shouldn't they run on different frequencies or something? Is there something he may be missing? Tech support is not much help...and he is the only tech that can install it within a 2 hour drive. I am so lost on this.

    Wireless earbuds that stay connected

    Posted: 22 Feb 2020 08:01 AM PST

I tried on a couple of different earbuds and found out that all of them disconnected when the music isn't playing. Getting the earbuds connected again requires either putting them in the case again or taking them off your ears and putting them back.
Are there any earbuds that don't disconnect when there is nothing being transmitted? Or an app/software that ensures bluetooth devices stay connected?

    Shortcut problem

    Posted: 22 Feb 2020 12:14 PM PST

So I've decided to upgrade from Windows 7 to windows 10 and I have a 1 terabyte portable hard drive, I moved all the files that I knew I need to the hard drive and installed a fresh windows 10 so there wouldn't be any trash left. After pulling out the files from the portable hard drive to my new clean windows 10 I noticed not all but most of the files were shortcuts, those included folders, photos and music. I never knew there could even be such a thing as a shortcut of a photo. As much as I understand copying (which I did to move files to the portable hard drive) does not create shortcuts. So can anyone explain what I did wrong and what could be done to restore my files. The files inside the portable hard drive were shortcuts too btw.

How do I stop pop up notifications appearing when using certain apps?

    Posted: 22 Feb 2020 11:53 AM PST

I don't want to entirely stop notifications, I just want to know how I can stop notification pop ups appearing while gaming, for example. Which then resume once the game is closed. If anything like that is possible I would be grateful to know how.

What is the most advanced human creation?

    Posted: 22 Feb 2020 11:00 AM PST

There are so many incredible feats of human engineering and I was wondering, which is the most advanced one? Of course, "advanced" is pretty vague term so for my definition, let's say the invention which would take the longest time with the highest chance of failure if we told some guys a hundred years ago to make a perfect replica(s). If that was their sole goal, which creation which take the longest time with the highest chance of failure (as in never succeeding within a practical time limit). Also if isn't something that's a one off or massive (which I'll use * to mark in the examples) they have to make 1000 of them. Here are some examples:

    • Intel Core i9-9900KS
    • D-Wave Pegasus quantum processor
    • Nvidia Titan RTX
    • iPhone 11 Pro Max
    • 2020 Tesla Model X
    • F-35
    • CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing kit
    • Summit supercomputer*
    • Internet*
    • GPS*
    • Nuclear reactor*
    • Large Hadron Collider*
    • International Space Station*
    • Crew Dragon*
    • Falcon Heavy*
