| Phone was hacked(???) Need help please Posted: 20 Sep 2020 10:02 PM PDT My OPPO F11 (company phone) screen turned blood red and started opening apps without me controlling it. It opened the QCY app (which I'm using for bluetooth earphones) turning phone language to Chinese. It was doing so many things without my control (like opening documents and apps) and I'm afraid my privacy/data has been breached. I'm thinking the phone was hacked. My coworker and I found a hard time turning it off as it is cancelling my actions but I eventually turned the phone off. After restarting the red tint was gone and my phone was back again. I thought that's cool way to take a note while browsing instantly, like changing, editing some inline text on a webpage, save them, make the notes referable anytime. I found some extension for just editing text and just make fun, that kinda, but no save function so that's for making joke but not for note taking. also I know that's possible to use chrome dev tool and edit html but no save function as well and that's kinda hassle you know. anyone knows such powerful extension, or project? | I’m about to lose my mind scanning Posted: 20 Sep 2020 11:58 PM PDT Hi all, I need to scan about 30 pages. I used to use paperport on my old computer but it updated and wiped it out. On my new windows xps computer I CANNOT FIGURE OUT how to scan using my brother 8440 or Brother 8710. I'm losing my mind. I hate windows 10. Even after 3 years I hate it. I downloaded this dell/Microsoft app called Scan and it really really sucks. It scans each page individually and when I scan as a pdf it comes out to 30mb. I can't scan pages individually and collate them. When I pass the paper through the feeder each pages comes out crooked a different way, i think the rubber wheel has gone bad on my printee. I've decided to scan each page individually like a caveman to get them straight but have no idea how to collate them. I keep searching on google for software but they are either viruses or want my first born as payment or are for iphone/android. If 2020 wasn't bad enough, now I'm feeling incompetent in scanning even though I used to do it everyday. Any help would be appreciated for this dummy [link] [comments] |

I'm hoping to work remotely (in Canada, from US) for a couple of weeks, and people need to be able to reach me at my usual phone number. | Why are my devices the only ones affected by slow internet speeds at home? Posted: 20 Sep 2020 08:52 AM PDT Apologies if this kind of question has been asked a million times. I should preface this by saying I live in Japan, but I hope problems like this are universal. I recently moved to a new condo, and the one of the "perks" of the place is that it already has internet set up. For whatever reason, my phone (iPhone) and my PC (windows) are both getting terrible internet speeds, to the point where I can't even use Google Maps. My phone averages around 6mbps (download) and my PC around 1mbps (download). For whatever reason it only seems to be affecting my devices, as my wife's phone (android) still gets around 95mbps (download). She's called the internet company, but none of their solutions have worked, so they suggested that it's likely my phone and PC. However, these speed problems only happened when we moved here. The internet company is a different local company, but I've never heard of "compatibility issues" between devices and an internet provider before. My PC is only about 3 years old and my phone is less than 2 years old (both purchases in Japan), so I'd rather not go out and blow money on new ones if there's something else I can do to fix the problem. I run a small photography side-business online, so this has rendered me unable to do anything with that since we moved in 2 months ago, which as been incredibly frustrating. I guess my question is, what could be some possible reasons for my internet speeds suddenly slowing down after switching to a new provider, while my wife's has been unaffected, and what would be some possible remedies. Apologies for the basic question, but I'm at a total loss. Information available on the internet on the uses of this device are rather sparse, but most people say that it can be used for a faster internet connection as well as download speeds. My home ADSL is pretty bad, I use it just for browsing and light video streaming. At the same time, I use a usb 3g modem, which is much better for gaming and more intensive stuff. So I have two different connections plugged in my PC, and I usually just disable the ethernet adapter in my "Network Connections" tab in windows when I want to use the USB modem. Is there a way to set the system up so I can use my Ethernet network for browsing and everything else, while routing one specific application (or game in my case) to use the USB network? I realize I could use email, but because we're looking for about 760 letters, I am hoping to find something that simplifies the process. | Why isn't interpolation used to smooth low fps? Posted: 20 Sep 2020 08:19 AM PDT I had this idea recently, there's a lot of driver settings and stuff which reduce latency at the cost of a bit of fps, but i thought of doing it the other way around: for example, your pc is only strong enough for about 40 fps in a game. You enable 1:1 interpolation (1 frame, then 1 interpolated frame) so your game only needs to render 30 fps to get 60 fps. The game then adds in 2 + 1 frame (for interpolation) of delay before showing the frames - the game is now 3 frames ahead of what it is showing you. Imagine that the display is currently on frame -3, and the game is on frame 0, which is rendered normally. It then skips rendering frame 1 and renders frame 2. after this, the display is on frame -1. After rendering frame 2, it interpolates frame 1 between frame 0 and frame 2. It has to finish this before the display has reached frame 1 and shows frame 1 and 2. during this, frame 3 has been interpolated in the background between frame 2 and frame 4 (which has been rendered 2 frames in advance) and so on... I 100% know that it doesnt work like this, i just wanna know why. [link] [comments] |
