Onion Skin Video Recording App Posted: 02 Nov 2020 10:28 PM PST I'm looking for an app that allows the user to record a video and pause while recording, and once they pause they can see an onion skin of the last frame they recorded to be able to resume and make seamless cuts. I would like to use this to make videos like those Zach King makes and figured this type of thing would be a great tool to use. Unfortunately, the closest I could find was onion skin for stop motion videos, which is not what I was looking for. Any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Question about ads and where they come from Posted: 02 Nov 2020 06:06 PM PST Hi , For the first time ever, I was reading something online and I came by an ad for vehicle gps trackers. My question is, does being on shared internet at home influence ads that are shown on different devices? What I mean is, is it possible that someone in my household is reading up on GPS trackers on their own device through our IP address , which is now being shown on my phone? or is it a random coincidence? Maybe I'm being paranoid but I wouldn't be surprised if someone in my house is doing that and find it to be too much of a coincidence [link] [comments] |
Two internet networks on the same PC, each to be used for different things Posted: 02 Nov 2020 08:12 PM PST So I live in an area that doesn't have great internet. We have decent internet, 20-100 Mbps download, ~10Mbps upload, but it has a data limit, one that I do not want to cross. My phone, however, has unlimited data with a very high data limit. My aim is to play games from my PC on my home internet, and stream them through my mobile data, not just to avoid passing the data limit, but also to make sure I have smoother gameplay on my PC (this has been a problem in the past; my PC specs are great, but I get lag spikes from streaming that are very noticeable in competitive games). I don't even know where I would go about researching how to do this, let alone if it's even possible, but I would ideally like to use 2 networks on my PC and designate the traffic from specific programs to their relative network. So I thought I'd ask the experts. Anyone got any idea how I would do this? [link] [comments] |
What upload speed limit is optimal? Posted: 02 Nov 2020 08:59 PM PST I'm using Netlimiter 4 Pro and I want to simulate a choppy mic and video on google meet without constantly disconnecting. Has anyone tested out a speed that works well? [link] [comments] |

Recently graduated CS and CIS majors what kind of laptop do you recommend? Posted: 02 Nov 2020 08:18 PM PST I am in the market for a new laptop and I'm hoping to get one that will be able to transition into a work machine once I graduate. I dont really have any real-world experience outside of small programs I do for homework so I don't really know what kind of laptop specs would be overkill and what would be too underpowered. Any recommendations? [link] [comments] |
Best software for music composing (that would follow the melody)? Posted: 02 Nov 2020 07:25 PM PST Hi. I don't know to compose nor what process is that. Because I am not familiar with music in almost any way. But I often compose music without notes and knowledge, and write lyrics firstly, before composing. The ideas just pop in my head. I don't play instruments. I don't know. Never had. I can compose a melody by myself singing, but I need an advice on how to find a software that would follow it with options to edit it. I would like to make a DIY instrument, too, off the record. I love guitars and melancholy of the Mediterranean, so if you are familiar with Greek, Spanish, Turkish, Armenian, Iranian instruments that are "easy" to make, an advice would be also helpful. I like piano, violins and claviatures, but maybe only keyboard, the last one is something I could make because pianos are massive and violins are violins. I like all music instruments, but I can play none. Out of the "air" instruments, Armenian duduk Is a number one, but I can't possibly play it nor others of that type. I like also the modern vibes, so is there such a software for music? Best regards and health. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 02 Nov 2020 08:00 AM PST Does anyone know how to take recordings off a Humax Freesat box HDD and edit it on the PC, even if I have to have it on the TV while it's transferred, tried a couple of things but stuck now? Please don't get too techy. HDMI, COAXIAL, USB? anything else, prefer not to move the box it's the only TV I have. Thanks in advance [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Nov 2020 03:09 PM PST Recently upgraded from some remote control switches for my lights (Etekcity Wireless Remote Control Outlet) to smart bulbs that I control through Google assistant (TP link Kasa) It works well enough, but we're finding it inconvenient to fumble for a phone or shout at google every time. I was wondering if there's like a physical remote control or switch that can work with the google environment. I was looking at Flic which doesn't seem to be compatible, And this Brilliant control which is way fancier than I need (or can afford) [link] [comments] |
Should i purchase a 3080 or get a 6800XT? Posted: 02 Nov 2020 01:44 PM PST Hi guys, I am trying to build a high end PC, so when I saw the Nvidia 3000 series launch I was hyped, especially the GDDR6X memory that they said would come with the 3080 and 3090, I'm a complete amateur when it comes to tech, but it still sounded awesome to me. Like many others I couldn't get my hands on a 3080 and while i was waiting for a restock, AMD announces their line of GPUs and while it looks great, i did not see GDDR6X memory on board the 6800XT and it also has lower memory bandwidth at 256-bit compared with the 3080. The 6800XT does have a feature called "Infinity Cache" and while i don't understand what it is, i assume its something that can compete the GDDR6X memory. Can someone who is more knowledgeable, explain to me how these cards differ in a simpler terms as possible? [link] [comments] |

What's the best way to store my files onto an external drive reliably? Posted: 02 Nov 2020 09:10 AM PST So I tend to have a lot of files, pictures and videos of stuff, like maybe from my walks home after work or just of my budgies and I've saved a lot of them onto some MEGA accounts, but that just doesn't seem reliable enough for me, plus since it's online, I'm always a little worried of something getting corrupted or lost since my data isn't really 100% in my own hands if I'm storing it with another service. I've tried using USBs, but the whole 32-64GB limit is kinda' keeping me from using them as much as I'd like to. Plus sometimes the USBs don't have as much storage as they say they do, and I'm unsure of getting one with 1TB, since I won't know for sure if it'll work or not. (This one seems good, but I feel like it wouldn't work.) SSDs seem like a good option too, but I just don't know enough about them to make the call.I'm okay spending a little extra money, as long as I know it'll work out enough for what I need it to. Anyone have any advice or thoughts on the matter? I'd appreciate any feedback. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 02 Nov 2020 06:31 AM PST I have a slightly older laptop that uses a standard hdmi; I want it to connect to a newer monitor that uses a display port rather than the standard hdmi. Can someone send me a link to an adaptor that would allow me to duplicate the hdmi laptop to a display port monitor? Thanks [link] [comments] |
