Career question: Take SAP Consultant job or take QA Analyst job?

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 07:29 PM PDT

I was offered an SAP consultant job at a tech company and also a QA Analyst job at a video game company. The SAP job requires about 24 months of training and the QA job is a 12 month contract. I'm interested in working in the video game field and there's a great chance I can move to programming after the 12 months (which is what I went to school for). What do you guys think? Both would be my first "real" job out of school and I don't want to fuck up my future haha

    Monitor Question

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 01:45 AM PDT

Hi Everyone, looking for some guidance. Getting a new computer after 10 years with a NVIDIA GeForce RTX2060 SUPER 8GB as the GPU. I'm looking to upgrade my old monitor as well and have gotten a bit overwhelmed. Looking for some recommendations for a quality 2K Curved monitor. Also, is G sync compatibility something I must have? Thanks so much!

Good apps for transferring files from PC to Android and vice versa?

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 07:15 AM PDT

I used to use easyjoin but it seems like they have gotten rid of the free version. I liked easyjoin because I could pair my PC and phone and then I'd be able to send files by just selecting a file then selecting the device to send it to. A lot of the other apps I've tried make you scan a qr code or type in a password to connect the apps, which isn't too big of a deal but I'd rather use an app without that if possible. I also use Pushbullet which fits all of my criteria, but the free version has a size limit on files so I have trouble sending videos.

Hii! I need guidance in selecting a tablet for school

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 04:58 PM PDT

I need help deciding which tablet to get for school!

Hi! I'm deciding between the brand of surface pro or ipad in order to utilize for school and engage in lessons. I would primarily be using the tablet to read, take notes, view lectures/power points, solve problems, etc. Can someone help me determine which option would be better? I'm looking for specs, mobility, as well as cost efficiency. If you have specific classes of the tablets you want to root for, let me know!

Is it possible to build a software-controlled simple toggle switch?

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 09:24 AM PDT

I am currently using a pair of IOGEAR KVM switches to swap between my work and personal computers. I have the toggle buttons for them under the edge of my desk so I can swap computers with relative ease, but I'm wondering if it's possible to wire a toggle switch into my computer itself which I could hook them up to and map the toggle function to a set of keystrokes or whatnot. It seems like it would be a relatively simple concept, but I'm having trouble finding hardware that would perform the task (possibly due to not figuring out the best search keywords..."switch" is pretty ambiguous, for example). Any suggestions?

Where should I start with a career in Computer Technology?

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 02:02 PM PDT

I'm sure questions like this are asked all the time, but as I've searched I haven't really found the answer to my specific question.

Basically, my job will pay for me to go to school, and I'd like to use that to make some steps into programming/software/coding/computers. There are several 8 and 12 week courses I can choose from that would provide structure, information, and a certificate to get into these various aspects of the field, and they're definitely alluring. But I also could enroll and go for a Bachelors degree in Computing Technology and Software Development. Numbers, syntax, things like this come pretty easily to me, so I'm not overly worried that I'll have a hard time learning in either environment, but which one am I better off pursuing? My gut tells me these certificates are nice, but won't count for as much, and while a degree will take longer it will be worth the difference because of the opportunities it could open up. Either way they'll pay for it so that's not as much of a concern.

Any advice from those who have experience going through this, or hiring people in this field would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 11:47 AM PDT

I recently sent my phone to be fixed and it came back with non of my data, their service is already closed for today but tomorrow I will find out if it was a factory reset or if they switched my board or storage to a new one, if they switched, could it be possible to extract my data from the board, the storage is UFS2.1?

if it was a factory reset, can you recommend to me good software for data recovery?

will update with new information as I get it.

I wont go into too much detail because, yano... privacy and all that jazz. But I'm working on finding someones location via an IP address but they're using a VPN to hide themselves. Is there any way to get around this? I know nothing about computers and could really do with some help!

Problem in my SAMSUNG TU7100 TV

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 05:16 AM PDT

Hello I've just bought a TU7100, when I connected it with my satellite receiver it works perfectly but when I switch the channel I discover that there is an audio delay which is annoying, so I have to plug and unplug the hdmi whenever I change the channel. Is there any solution?
