Tech Support - Live Streaming Kit Wanted

    Live Streaming Kit Wanted

    Posted: 05 Aug 2020 03:33 AM PDT

I'm looking to live stream via Android and/or IOS. I've got 2 Blackmagic cameras which will be HDMI out and then the phone device is USB C in. We'll be streaming to Youtube and Insta.

So far I've tracked down a Blackmagic Atem for camera switching and then an AverMedia Extreme cap which turns HDMI into UVC. Will this work for me? Any things to look out for? Any advice on other systems considered but I need it to be mobile (as in we won't necessarily use it near wifi or fixed internet and are going to rely on 4G data) and ideally under £1000 - UK based.

Which antivirus takes the least amount of resources?

NEED HELP! I'm looking for basic smart glasses that can transmit live video (Connecting via app to mobile network ie. fb live) with a small screen for live text readout.

    Posted: 04 Aug 2020 02:28 PM PDT

Not looking for augmented reality, translation programs, or any future tech. Apologies if tech like this is overflowing on google, but I need a basic function product.

    The functions I need:

    Wireless connection to mobile phone.

Mounted HD Video camera with stabilisation that can live transmit video.

A small screen that can read out live updates and comments from observers.

    Microphone, so video has sound.

Essentially, I need a phone's live streaming capabilities on a pair of glasses.

Thanks to anyone who reads and comments.

Personal email, from work computer, to another personal email?

    Posted: 05 Aug 2020 12:16 AM PDT

Would it be possible to monitor personal email usage from a work computer? Or is most monitoring done within a "browser history" and corporate email accounts sort of monitoring?

Say a file with boss contact information is sent from personal email to another personal email (both owned by me) on the work computer?

I see a lot of information about... Corporate emails forwarding information outwards, but what about personal email to personal email?

While I understand cause for concern this may impose, I'm just wondering where the fine line is with communication and privacy within a corporate computer.

    Tablets...?

    Posted: 05 Aug 2020 12:00 AM PDT

I want to buy a tablet with minimum 10" screen.

Primarily I will use it for regular communication uses (email, messenger etc), web surfing, general use and ebook/pdf and other reading.

Would like to be able to watch TV/Movies using my Apps (Netflix,Shaw satellite app, Prime, YouTube).

Mainly I don't want it to ever be "laggy".

I want something that I can use offline.

Would LOVE to be able to connect it to my PC monitor and keyboard.

Strongly considering the Pixel Slate....unsure which model to choose from, if I would notice a difference between technologies.

    NOT a gamer.

Currently have Samsung S8+ phone, open to different platforms.

Unlimited budget, but I'm cheap so would like to stay under 500.

Anyone who can compare differences in specs, tell what level they suggest, what I should look for or avoid?

Can Anyone Recommend Me a Home/Outdoor Surveillance Camera System

    Posted: 04 Aug 2020 08:10 PM PDT

My parents just finished renovating a weekend getaway place located in N.E. PA in a forest situated on rocky mountains.

We want to install (hopefully it's easy to install) 4-8 outdoor surveillance cameras that hopefully have high quality video recording, night vision, motion detection, audio/video, and any extra goodies.

We are not looking for a monthly payment type of thing with a company. Basically we just want to mount it, have it record any motion when it detects it, and have the ability to review the footage, daily.

We also have no internet access, wi-fi there. We do have the ability to connect it if necessary to a power source.

A lot of animals come at night which we are interested in finding out which ones, for example. As well as we would like to avoid potential vandalism or break ins.

Also please let me know if it requires you to buy individual memory cards if they are needed. If they are, what kind should I buy to have the ability to store a weeks worth of footage before reviewing it and deleting it if necessary.

Thanks for any replies and suggestions.

Looking for recommendations for high fidelity, comfortable headphones for casual computer use

    Posted: 04 Aug 2020 12:03 PM PDT

not doing any music editing or anything pro level, so I'm not looking for the flagship headset or anything. Anything under like $200 is cool

only preference is I don't really care for gaming headsets and their aesthetic. emphasis on comfortable as well, most of the headphones I've used start to start weighing down after an hour or so. having a microphone would be a bonus but I wouldn't mind without. thanks for any recommendations

Unknown devices keep showing up in Windows 10 "Connect to a wireless display"

    Posted: 04 Aug 2020 07:05 PM PDT

I have an older laptop that I often use as a second screen. I use the projection method through Windows' "Connect to a wireless display" in the Display settings.

Whenever I click it, there are often times devices listed on there that aren't mine.

Does "Connect to a wireless display" show all devices that are nearby, regardless of the wifi network that they are conneced to? Or is it only suppose to show all the devices that are connected to your own secured wifi (i.e. my own two laptops)? I thought that I could only connect to devices that are connected to my wifi network - using "Connect to a wireless display". Is it possible that those unknown devices were somehow able to connect to my wifi?

Trying to use a mirrorless camera as a webcam using an A/V Out to USB cable

    Posted: 04 Aug 2020 06:17 PM PDT

I have an old Nikon 1 V1. It has Mini HDMI out and an A/V out. My question is if its possible to use the A/V Out port as a way of capturing video for zoom meetings. I could just buy a mini HDMI to HDMI then convert HDMI to USB using an adapter but that setup costs $30+ bucks. Getting an A/V to USB cable is way cheaper.

Due to COVID-19 is there any anonymous poll that may allow to vote just once?

    Posted: 04 Aug 2020 08:57 AM PDT

Due to COVID-19 there's some polls that are needed (like renewal of associations board like in my case) to be done but are required to be done online

Many poll services are can be used to vote several times with different accounts but we need something to vote anonymously. I thought the ideal solution would be sending private URLs so each person can vote only once because each URL would allow just one vote but I don't know any services that could do that or can be another alternative. Do you know any?

Looking for Wireless Headset / Mic for Skype Calls at Work

    Posted: 04 Aug 2020 10:34 AM PDT

I've been having to attend alot of skype meetings at work (on-site in a lab) with coworkers who are telecommuting.

The onboard mic on my work laptop isn't always sufficient because it picks up way too much background noise and even a simple cooling fan is enough to cause issues.

And since my work is 'psuedo-broke' (i.e. they don't want to spend any money), they aren't making any purchases that are deemed non-essential even when they are.

That said, I could by a cheap $10 wired headset and be done, but if I am to spend my own money, I want something that is a bit more useful than voice chat, like listening to music while I work.

For the time being I am using an astro wireless gaming headset that I use with my PS4. This works great, but it's a little too bulky for work and kinda sticks out like a sore thumb in a professional setting.

TLDR: Here's what I'm looking for.

    - A small earbud style wireless headset with (detachable if possible) mic. A neckband in this case is preferred. If there exists a discreet headphone option, I am open to that too. Just nothing too bulky which unfortunately seems to be the style.

    - I'm okay with average sound quality, but will pay more if a little bit can get me alot.

    - The microphone can't be a total piece of crap. As I said earlier, the biggest problem with the onboard mic on the laptop is that it picks up too much background noise. The lab I work in isn't noisy by any means, but a little more noisy than your typical office environment. In this case, it's usually some cooling fans making all the racket. That said, the microphone on my gaming headset works great and isn't anything special.

    - No preference on wireless connectivity so long as it's reliable within a 30' (10 meter) of the receiver.

I don't know much in regards to typical prices for what I'm asking, but I'm going to guess around $100.00 (give or take $50) which is fine.

    HDMI Switch Recommendations (Specifics Inside)

    Posted: 04 Aug 2020 12:02 PM PDT

Hello! I was hoping the community might be able to provide some recommendations for HDMI Switches.

I'm trying to do the following -

    • 2xHDMI IN from Work Laptop Docking Station
    • 2xHDMI IN from Personal Desktop PC
    • 2xHDMI OUT to my monitors

Trying to figure out a way to have both work laptop & desktop running into the same switch so I can flip those onto the 2xmonitors without having to constantly be changing HDMI cables into the monitors.

Hope my explanation is clear, but let me know if more info is needed!

    Thanks!

EDIT - Actually realizing I would appreciate any thoughts about USB Switchers too? I have a mechanical keyboard I would (ideally) like to be able to switch over for both laptop/desktop usage.

How long will a 32 GB micro SD card last me on a dashcam recording at 1080p?

    Posted: 04 Aug 2020 11:40 AM PDT

Assumptions: The camera records in 1080p ~60 fps, H.264, 6Mbps bitrate with AAC-HE at a low bitrate.

I am not asking for how much footage the card can fit, that's easy math. I'm asking what is a rational approximation of the amount of time I can use this card before I should replace it (i.e. leaving some buffer room before getting errors or bad sectors).

will i benefit from a faster cpu if my current cpu is not 100% utilizing?

    Posted: 04 Aug 2020 05:48 AM PDT

I try to understand why my laptop with i5 6200u feels slower than my pc with ryzen 5 3600 and more ram. Even tho i only am webbrowsing and the cpu usage isnt 100% on both of these devices? Like i only do light tasks but the pc is faster with opening apps, loading programs etc.

Is this the ram speed? Since the cpu usage isnt 100%? The ram speed on pc is 3000mhz and on laptop is 2133mhz

Can you accidentally live stream yourself for an hour or more without knowing on facebook group?

    Posted: 04 Aug 2020 08:07 AM PDT

I sometimes accidentally press a "go live" button when i try to post somethings pn facebook group. Three days ago, i started to worry that i might live streamed myself without knowing on facebook group since i press a "go live" button a lot and might accidentally press "start live video". If i did live streamed myself, i worry everyone will see me doing private stuffs (such as masturbating) and some might recorded me and post it on internet or porn sites. I know i can check it but the problem is, i left some of the group and most of the group got deleted or banned me so i can't check anything on those groups. Maybe, their group got deleted by facebook because i live streamed myself doing inappropriate stuffs Or they banned me because i live streamed myself doing inappropriate and sexual stuffs, I mean it possible, right? I been panicking a lot about it.

    Laptop fps improvements

    Posted: 04 Aug 2020 07:34 AM PDT

First time posting, so please excuse any rules I may have broken. So the laptop I have is an Asus tuf fx505DU, now looking at a lot of youtube videos I see them getting more fps on the same laptop than I do, for example someone demonstrating benchmark for sekiro on the fx505du gets the full 60fps but when I play the same game I get a max of 50, for those who don't know about this laptop it's specs are:

AMD Ryzen 7 3750h Nvidia GeForce gtx 1660ti (closest equivalent is a 1070 founders edition) 16gb ram And 1.5 tb of storage

Sekiros requirements are an i5 4300 and a gtx 970 The same thing happens with games like ark and no man's sky, where fps is lower than it should be. Thanks in advance for responses and once again apologies if my post breaks any rules.

Edit: the laptop is about 2 months old and I treat it with more care than I treat myself with.
