How was my Twitch + Gmail hacked even with Gmail 2FA Posted: 25 Nov 2019 02:08 AM PST For context, my twitch account got compromised and a hacker used my linked PayPal to buy $100USD of bits and donated it to someone (idk untraceable) and apparently after a bunch of email digging, had access to my account from Jun due to the fact that I got multiple Twitch Successful sign-ins. The hacker somehow got access to my gmail as he/she also managed to change my Twitch Password effectively kicking me out of the account. IDK why but the person didn't change my gmail password or remove the 2FA but I guess I was lucky (or rather unlucky). I do not have 2FA on my twitch so I understand why purchases were able to be made but the fact that my Gmail has 2FA yet the hacker was able to either guess my twitch password reset token or had access to my Gmail account + Phone number scares me. I received no codes that gmail had sent without me attempting to log into my account myself. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Nov 2019 06:45 PM PST I don't know if this is the place to ask, and if it's not could someone help redirect me. I am looking for a very budget microphone that I can use for gaming and possibly streaming. I'd like it to be under $75 but if better quality can be $100 than I would be for that. I play games like fortnite and counterstrike and want something that is clear, small(I don't have a large desk and have duel monitors) and easy to setup. If anyone can help with suggestions or redirect me to a better place that would be awesome [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Nov 2019 10:12 PM PST Are apps the main source of notification ads? And in that case would said app be visible in the app list if i lookes for? Is it possible for an APK to cause notification ads even after they are uninstalled? (notification ads being ads that appear on the notifications tab; really straightforward but just in case there would be any confusion!) The reason for the 2nd question is that when I hold the notification down I get a string of numbers rather than the actual app! Any help would be appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Nov 2019 03:48 PM PST Help me please! Sorry for poor punctuation, I'm using talk to text on my phone. So about a week ago I was starting a nun's lock on pokemon Emerald, And I noticed this app chromium had installed itself. I know chromium is a real thing but I'd never installed it and I didn't even know it was. I uninstalled it and then my computer started dying (desktop background screwed up, poor performance, random keys and mouse buttons not working, etc.). I found out the cause was uwamson.a!ml. So I used windows defender to delete it and everything was fine. Then I booted it up this weekend and found that a new anti virus had installed itself on my computer. Segu Raza anti virus Is a piece of software from Brazil. The lite version showed up on my computer and apparently it installs viruses on my computer to make it look like it's deleting viruses that were already there. And then my computer crashed well I tried run malwarebytes. Had to switch to malware bytes in the 1st place because windows defender said it was blocked by my ministrate or. Turns out it because the sager Raza anti virus runs in the background and the uninstall option through windows tries to uninstall it through the program which I don't trust because if a program says it alone install itself odds are it leaves parts of itself behind. What do I do now? Please I beg for you malware hunting geniuses to bless me with your forbidden knowledge! I know I probably downloaded a bad rom file and it's installing all this stuff, unless you know of another reason why these specific things got installed one after another. [link] [comments] |
Need help deciding on an external HD for storage Posted: 24 Nov 2019 05:20 PM PST I'm looking for an external HD to store things like pictures and digital copies of important documents. I'm not really sure what I should even be looking for spec wise. Any suggestions are appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Spilled wine on keyboard now keys are sticky. Posted: 24 Nov 2019 11:05 AM PST I spilled a glass of wine on my keyboard (long story). i managed to get it all up and cleaned and the keyboard works fine. But i believe the wine may have actually dried inside the switches themself (green switches). and it is causing them to stick and be a slow release. when i first spilled the wine i was sure it was fried so i drenched it in rubbing alcohol which brought it back to life now im left with sticky keys. any suggestions on how to clean them? Are iPhones actually the best smartphones out there for privacy? Posted: 24 Nov 2019 03:23 PM PST For those of you who are unaware, Apple has been running this ad concerning privacy lately. I was just wondering if iPhones really are the best top-of-the-line smartphone when it comes to privacy, or if these are simply hollow ads that don't really mean much. I've never owned an iPhone before, but if they truly are the best option for keeping my data private, that would be a fairly big selling point. [link] [comments] |
iPad/iPhone movie app to tv cable or wireless mirroring (UK)? Posted: 24 Nov 2019 11:55 AM PST Are the wireless options such as Apple TV/Chromecast/fire stick as clear resolution wise as the lightening to hdmi cable? In the UK there is a sky cinema app I would like to watch on tv but can no longer be watched on my laptop. I have heard some of the wireless options won't mirror certain thing such as BT sport but not sure if one is better than any of the others. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Nov 2019 11:11 AM PST Have a AOC C27G1 27" curved Gaming Monitor that my friend gave me because he bought a bigger one. Wondering if there's anywhere in the U.K that does repairs for it, bearing in mind I don't have (nor does my friend) have the receipt for it, which is what AOC themselves ask for when I contact them. They're helpless otherwise apparently. My friend says the "panel is broken" on the screen (not entirely sure what that means). Thought screen does come on when plugged in. It comes boxed. Any suggestions welcome. [link] [comments] |

What’s keeping me from building a self sustaining power source? Posted: 24 Nov 2019 10:57 AM PST This post is more of a concept than anything I have on paper atm but this seems very possible, probably being a combination of a very efficient electric motor and several lithium (?) batteries. As in: if I can get the motor to produce enough watts, volts, ampers, what have you- then I can direct some of it back to the batteries not being used. Then when the ones that are being used run dry a sort of timer will adjust it accordingly? Again, just a very vague concept, no plans being made yet. It will obviously take a catalyst amount of energy to get going but it should be feasible right? [link] [comments] |
Does a digital inkless pen exist where I can take notes on a non-touchscreen desktop? Posted: 24 Nov 2019 04:26 AM PST After asking in a number of subs I'm convinced what I'm looking for doesn't exist, or I'm using the completely wrong terminology. If anyone could enlighten me it would be fantastic. I have 100 coins here for Reddit silver which is rather useless but I'll give it to the person that leads me to a successful purchase. If that's not enough tell me you want Gold, I'll subscribe just so I can give you gold. Heck if you need 2 gold or more tell me, I'll send it. That is how desperate I am to find an answer to this question. Now, it seems what I'm looking for is not a stylus and not a smart pen. It doesn't involve a tablet. Absolutely all advertising I look at seems to involve a pen writing on tablet of some form. That is definitely not what I'm looking for. First I'll explain explicitly what I want to do: I have a laptop running Windows 10 with no touchscreen since I don't like touchscreens on my laptop (I'm one of those old fashioned retarded people that likes to keep the screen clean). My laptop is my productivity station. I'm not interested in using an iPad, touchscreen, or a smart phone as an alternative productivity station, only my laptop. Now, I'd like it to simply be the case that I could write with a pen on any surface that is NOT my laptop monitor and have that resemble mouse movement ON my laptop monitor as if the mouse button is pressing down. That's it. Nothing else. No other features needed. Case closed. Why would I want to do this? This would be handy for various native applications on my PC such as Paint, Photoshop, OneNote drawing, Sketchpad, to name but a few of many applications that all serve a useful purpose to use a real pen as opposed to my mouse to move the mouse cursor as if it's pressing down. This is to simulate drawing, but that might not be the only thing I want to do. Again, I'd like full control over when the pen moves the mouse cursor. It's fine if it's assumed the mouse is always being pressed down. Specifically the following three things apply - 1) I don't need or want a touchscreen surface to write on with a pen (rules out a stylus) 2) I don't want to draw ink on a special piece of paper (rules out a smart pen. The ink is a useless and unneeded feature for me, and involves unnecessary ink replacement.) 3) I understand I can do the above by purchasing a touchscreen tablet and using that. I don't want that. I'm not interested in syncing a touchpad, smart phone or whatever with my laptop PC. I want a native and direct sync from the pen to my laptop and that's it. All I want to do is move a pen somewhere, anywhere, even on a special blank piece of paper (I don't care here, I'm flexible with what I'm required to write on, it can be anything at all), so long as that its movement will appear as a mouse movement on my laptop/desktop PC so that my computer will treat it as if I'm using my mouse and pressing it down, and that it need not know I'm using a pen. TL;DR To attempt to summarize what I'm looking for: I want to write with a pen in my hand and for that writing to appear on my laptop PC screen. Not a special touchpad screen that's included with the pen, not an iPad, not a smartphone, not a special notebook that's designed to receive special ink. No. I simply want what I write with this pen to appear on my laptop computer screen (which is not a touchpad). That is all I want. Nothing else. A smart pen with its smart ink seems to come very close to what I want. Except I don't want the ink. Does this technology exist currently as of the year 2019, or not? If it does, where can I find it? Thank you very much for your time if you're able to answer and I sincerely apologize for my frustrated tone, as I've had great difficulty attempting to find out whether what I'm looking for exists or not.
