I need a new phone but my parents make it difficult.

    Posted: 09 Dec 2020 08:24 PM PST

It can't be touch screen but it can have an app store, a browser, a camera, Bluetooth, pretty much everything a smart phone has. I have previously owned an Alcatel flip, and a plum rugged ram 7. I am also allowed to have an Alcatel smart flip. Any ideas? Should I just go with another flip phone or should I try to get one that doesn't fold?

Advice for getting a vidya console with an existing PC setup

    Posted: 09 Dec 2020 08:44 PM PST

So currently I only have a PC setup, dual monitor. I play PC games on one monitor and browse/play videos on the the other, but sometimes I like to alt tab and leave games running in the background. If I got a console, is there a way I could have the same experience I do on PC so my second monitor isn't exclusively for the console. Would a capture card help with something like this?

    USB C Monitor Hub?

    Posted: 09 Dec 2020 09:52 PM PST

    Hi,

I use a monitor that connects to my MacBook via USB C so it lets me use the monitor as a USB hub as well. I connect a mouse and keyboard to my monitor and it just makes my desk look cleaner and it is overall just easier. But I am currently in the process of building a pc so I can game, and my question is how can I use the USB on my monitor with a PC? If my motherboard has a USB c connection can I connect that to the monitor like I do with my MacBook and it'll work the same? If so is there a way I can get a splitter or something so I can switch between my MacBook and pc, or will I just have to unplug since the mac is using it as a display port where the pc is just to connect to the monitor as a USB hub? I'll be connecting the PC to the monitor via HDMI using the GPU.

First Time PC Buyer Need Help on Deciding

    https://www.newegg.ca/abs-ala223/p/N82E16883360020?Item=N82E16883360020

That's the one I'm interested in. The CPU and GPU seem really good and I could not find those at that price anywhere else which is why I'm also skeptical about the quality. This is my first time buying a pc and can't really build myself. I need some help as to whether or not the price is good or if anything is wrong with it. Main uses for it would be gaming/school work.

Is the IPad Pro my best choice?

    Posted: 09 Dec 2020 08:18 AM PST

I'm looking for something on the go, so a tablet would be ideal, that I can draw on, take handwritten notes at work and for studying and also use to write on Word when needed.

I've been watching a lot of videos on the iPad pro + apple pencil and it seems like it fits exactly what I need, but I hate the price, it's sooo expensive. Which is why I came here.

Can anyone suggest other tablets or options for me to look into? At this point I'm almost convinced on the iPad, but if anyone thinks they can show me something with a better value, it would save my bank account. Thanks.

    Help wanted PC gamers

    Posted: 09 Dec 2020 05:57 PM PST

    Please help me PC Gamers

Hi! Sorry if I don't write this right I don't use reddit often so I don't know the etiquette.

I have a question about my gaming monitor. I've never played on PC before but I decided to change that and buy a cyberpower PC and an ASUS VG245H monitor. On the directions for the PC it shows a port to plug in the monitor, but it seems I don't have that cable. I do, however, have several HDMI cables and I read online you could use HDMI to connect from the ASUS monitor to your PC, and the other cable was if you wanted even greater quality, but it'll still work with the HDMI... However the lingo was very confusing and I thought I would ask actual people. Please help me I wanna play games :(

Channeling PS4 audio into my laptop to hear game audio and use Discord at the same time?

    Posted: 09 Dec 2020 05:24 PM PST

Been trying to find methods on how to do this however, the majority of solutions I've found use a desktop pc which I don't have, plugging an aux cable into the line in port, and then connecting the other half either to the PS4 Controller or the TV which the PS4 is connected to, working as a speaker that channels the console audio into the computer.

However, I only have access to a laptop, which only has a singular combo 3.5mm mic/headphone jack, so I'm wondering if there are any other options available to me.

    WHATSAPP: Leave redundant groups

    Posted: 09 Dec 2020 04:11 PM PST

Is there a way to leave groups thousands of groups you get added to for a small, (at the time) convenient event. They all now sit there with no purpose. Is there a way to leave them without having to go into every one and do it manually?

I have this like intuition or something that voice technology is gonna be massive in the future, it just sucks now.

Anyone agree or have any insight?

How to batch convert mp3 to change tempo?

    Posted: 09 Dec 2020 04:04 AM PST

Hi i have some mp3z and i need to change the tempo, i tried looking online but couldn't find a site that does batch conversion. I remember using Audacity in the past (and I have it) but I can't find where to download plugins. I'd also like a backup option online for batch conversion of tempo change or even a recommendation to install a small program (under 10mb).

    My phone isn't turning on

    Posted: 09 Dec 2020 04:37 AM PST

So my phone (galaxy A 70) no longer turns on. In the beginning it wasn't charging. It was doing that for quite a while and i usually fixed it by just lightly hitting it a bit or changing the charger position(the charger itself was fine as the same would happen with other chargers). This last time though, it didn't work. It didn't charge at all for quite a while until the phone turned off. Afterwards, i kept trying until i finally got the charging icon to pop up. I left the phone to charge and after a bit i turned it on. It started to turn on, but after showing the Samsung logo it turned back off. It didn't just turn off like a regular phone normally would. This time the light faded quickly (usually phones turn the lights off immediately, not having them fade). I tried it again and the same thing happened, but this time faster (took less time for the light to start fading). From that moment it hasn't shown any sign of life accept flashing a thin horizontal line across the screen whenever i try to turn it on which leads me to believe that the screen is at fault. I brought it to a repair shop and the person working there also said it was a screen issue, but im worried about the charging. If my phone had charged and not turned off, would the display issue still have happened? If i replace the display, will i also need a new charging gate? Does only the display have an issue or is it also the charging gate? If my phone not charging caused the display to fail, i can't just get a new display and assume it won't also fail because of the same issue. I don't know what to do about this...

Best App to Transfer Notes and Files/Pics from Apple Mac/iOS and PC Windows

    Posted: 09 Dec 2020 06:29 AM PST

So I have been having an annoying headache... since building my PC a few months ago I realized how much I used airdrop between my iPhone and MacBook. The problem is now I use my MacBook at work and PC at home in addition to using my iPhone for a lot of things.

What is the best app that I could download on my iPhone that will sync on the same app/web app on my MacBook and PC so I can make small notes within on my phone or where ever and reference them later. Also upload things like pictures or files from phone and be able to access on PC.

I have been using Microsoft OneNote for a little while but I'm having too many issues and it's becoming annoying. Thanks for any help!!
