Hyper local biz idea for local domains

    Posted: 08 Nov 2020 01:20 AM PST

    Hi everyone

I had bought two .com domain names 8 years ago. These are two highly populated, market + residential areas within a major city. I have my primary business, but planning to turn these two domains into a hyper-local <something> that I can make over a weekend (or two) that keep earning me passive income. (I'm a techie, can code)

Wondering if you guys have any good simple ideas? Planning to leverage social media and search traffic mostly.

E.g. maybe a paid yellow pages kind of directory of all services (like electricians, plumbers, pest control etc) with paid listings and contact of shops in those areas.

Google solves the problem for most shops and their contacts, but service providers (like e.g. keymaker, painter etc are hard to find). Not too confident with this idea.

What else can I spin? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Hikvision Camera with Built in Audio and Flashing Light

    Posted: 08 Nov 2020 03:50 AM PST

These days we're going to take out the lengthy-awaited much-hyped Hikvision camera with built in audio and flashing light.

I've such product determine in the back of me here then there may be up and running so we are going to take a short appearance if I zoom you in and is under there you'll see in that compartment is a built-in speaker now the quantity may be adjusted the turret could be on the front aspect here and the bullet I locate is louder so if his audio projection needed then I'd say the bullet is a far better option for you so there may be the integrated speaker there.

What we are able to do now could be zoom you out allow me just put you back and what you may locate with this product is the turret is a miles nicer end lower down retail surroundings appearance clever but the bullet as a miles father attain-in or twin flush in like what you may see is so the cause movement in line crushing line crossing or intrusion.

Getting Ads for stuff I've never once expressed interest in

    Posted: 08 Nov 2020 03:34 AM PST

Hi, over the last 6 weeks or so, the ads I've been getting from Google and Facebook are all for ride share applications (e.g. DiDi, Uber, and Ola). I have never expressed interest in ride share apps, I don't have any timeshare apps on my phone, and from memory I've only ever used a ride share app once about 3 years ago.

I used to get ads about stuff I was genuinely interested in (as much as I don't like ads, I would at least get ads about stuff I might actually buy or use). Is there anyway to reset my ad data, or tell Google that I don't care in the slightest about Uber or Ola?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated as hearing the words "switch to DiDi today" have been permanently etched into my brain.

Audio Issue with sudden change in volume

    Posted: 07 Nov 2020 04:57 PM PST

Hi Guys, I am not sure if this is the best place to ask this but here we go:

After completing my new PC a month ago, I realised something was few days ago. Basically the audio on my computer crackles or makes a pop whenever I start, stop or skip forward an audio output. It doesn't matter whether it's a windows notification or a youtube video. If it's sudden, it will do it. Of course, I've followed through with trouble shooting methods and here is where it baffled me.

I have SteelSeries Arctis 5 USB and they do the noise both with the USB dongle and with the 3.5mm connector. Alright, I tried a B&O pair of headphones, same issue. I tried on my work laptop (AMD), same issue. Then, I remember I read about this issue happening on AMD builds so I tried both headphones on my Macbook (intel), which does the same thing. Funny enough, I even tried with speakers and the issue is still there.

Is this a normal thing to happen due to the sudden change in volume?

    Thank you in advance.

Is there some way to download large amount of .mp3 audio files from wiki page in one go?

    Posted: 08 Nov 2020 01:11 AM PST

I am looking to download all the old school runescape soundtrack from the wiki page for my own nostalgia listening purposes.

There is a manual way of downloading the tracks however doing this for all 600+ tracks will take a long time.

I am curious to know if there is an easy way to download all of them in one go. Ive tried to look at other sources such as youtube compilations however there is no complete list for all the soundtracks.

    Syber counter-attack? (Windows, Linux)

    Posted: 07 Nov 2020 11:52 PM PST

    Hi guys.
So, let's say that someone logs in on your PC or android and has an intention to steal valuable data. It would be illegal to make a trap that would be a trojan. But what trap for black hackers would you suggest? Maybe something like ... a trap where I would get his IP? That's legal? Or if he would get a virus?
I don't have important things on electronics, yet in case I would have, I've talked with someone, it would be of use to me. Plus, I did save all the important passwords on my piece of paper, and I use 2-factor authentication and I have internet very secure. However, I never know what could happen in the future and I don't wanna always be on guard.
    Thanks! :)

Can I use a one-channel audio interface if I have a mixer with multiple channels?

    Posted: 07 Nov 2020 10:15 PM PST

So I'm looking to get an audio interface to record my synthesizer in audio (which requires two line outputs, not one). I know I'd need a two-channel Audio Interface to accommodate the two-line output quarter-inch jacks but I'm trying to save money and buy a single channel interface since I happen to have a Yamaha mixer laying around that has 6 channels. If I use a quarter-inch cable to connect the interface to the mixer, will I be able to then hook up my synth to the mixer? Basically, would a single channel interface be fine if I'm gonna hook it up to my mixer?

    Thanks!

    Port Forwarding Suddenly Stopped Working

    Posted: 07 Nov 2020 07:44 PM PST

A week ago out of nowhere, the port forwarding that I had set up on my router to play on my Minecraft server stopped working. All the settings for my router were untouched, but the port was closed when using a tool online to check it. I rebooted my router, which did nothing. I factory reset my router and reconfigured the port forwarding, which also did nothing. I have an ASUS RT-AC3100 router. The port forwarding section of the router looks fine; it is enabled and the port 25565 for my computer is set to be open. The static IP that I gave my computer is also untouched and not conflicting with another IP. I just have no clue why it randomly stopped working, and hasn't worked since. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Both of these brand-new HP Laptops are 17", have an Intel I7, 16 GB of RAM, etc. What explains the price difference?

    Posted: 07 Nov 2020 05:44 AM PST

Here are the specs of both PCs. I noticed that they both offer different versions of Windows (one is a trial, and the other isn't).

Do you think that the price differences justify the two models?
