Why are Nintendo and Microsoft so bad at naming their game consoles? Posted: 08 Sep 2020 03:32 PM PDT Wii sounded like a penis. Wii U sounded like they are taking about your penis. Xbox One was actually the 3rd Xbox. Series X sounds like a scam because it sounds like they are going to release several different upgrades of their upcoming 4th console like it's a series of consoles. How can huge successful corporations not get it right ? To be fair Nintendo Switch is a cool name. But Xbox 720 would have been way better for the "One". [link] [comments] |

What does a telecom broker do? Posted: 08 Sep 2020 08:44 PM PDT So I have an interview as a sales rep for this telecom brokerage company coming up. I am trying to research their website to understand their work, but I am quite confused. It seems like they sell tech to companies like att, Verizon, etc? Would someone take a look at their site (tbicom.com) and explain it in a way that a 10 year old could understand. Lmao TIA. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Sep 2020 03:58 PM PDT So I am using Filmora9 to edit together some podcasts with video background. Why is it only using 2 of my 6 cores to process video, and not using my graphics card at all to help render even though I have turned on the option? I feel like this is making rendering and effects very slow to process. Any tips tricks or advice? Ryzen 5 3600x 16Gb Gdd4 3200Mhz Gigabyte 2070 super. Tomahawk B450 max PBO on as well as Game boost, and XMP. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Sep 2020 03:46 PM PDT So, im trying to help a friend out. He's WFH due to covid, and until last week was able to use his personal computer with a nice multi-monitor set up to connect to his company's AWS workspace. However, the powers that be decided it was too expensive and they wanted more control, so now everything is on-prem, and they must use company provided laptops and VPN. He cant install the VPN on personal machine, and I doubt he has any Admin rights to install TeamViewer or the like. Im looking for a solution that would let him have a window on his desktop of the laptop, and be able to control it. I understand the simplest way would be a standard KVM and just switch back and forth, but thats not as fun, plus the laptop and switch would still take up desk space and he cant control both devices at once. I'm wondering if there is a software solution that does not require install rights, or perhaps a hardware solution (like some kind of capture/passthrough card?) that would accomplish this. I dont think RDP would be an option, since I doubt it's configured on the work laptops, plus the VPN complicates things. I am not sure how his company's IT has it set up. Thanks for your input! Samsung S20 predictive text and auto-replace not working Posted: 08 Sep 2020 02:10 PM PDT I just got the Samsung S20 (just the regular one, not the ultra or anything like that), and the keyboard settings are going to be the death of me. At first, the predictive text was only in French, so I took the French keyboard options off. This just made it so I have no predictive text at all. It shows that predictive text and auto replace are both on in my settings, but neither are working. When I tried googling, people had said that the last update had messed all of this up and that you need to clear data, but I've only had this phone for a few days, so I don't think that's what I need to do? Does anyone know how I can fix this? [link] [comments] |
Screen mirroring looks bad on samsung smart tv, please help? Posted: 08 Sep 2020 01:37 PM PDT I have a samsung a11 smartphone and a samsung 720p 32' smart tv. I use the smartview feature on my phone to project the screen to TV and I noticed that the screen looks blurry/pixalated sometimes when I'm streaming videos, while my phone screen is clear. I ratio the phone screen to the tv screen. Is there any way to fix this? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Sep 2020 12:37 PM PDT So I have an HP stream \which runs Windows 10 and I have heard that Linux is a more secure and faster OS than windows. I am totally illiterate here and I am debating whether to switch to Linux or not. I understand that there are different distros in Linux and if I were to switch to Linux, which would be good? Thnx. Gaming laptops with dual storage? Posted: 08 Sep 2020 09:45 AM PDT I currently have a Gigabyte P34wv5-SL2 with 2 TB SSD and 1 TB HDD, NVIDIA GTX 970 graphics card, 16 GB RAM. I've had this for four years and now the motherboard is bunk. Someone on reddit suggested I get a new laptop and move the storage so I can save my RAM, HDD, and SSD. I'm looking for another gaming laptop with a good graphics card and processor that has the capacity for dual storage. Then I intend to switch out whatever storage it comes with for what I have. Hopefully the recommendations are on the cheaper side since the storage, naturally, isn't my main concern. I also like smaller laptops between 14"-15". [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Sep 2020 05:12 AM PDT I am a teacher and my school is starting the year virtually. I am looking for a webcam/mic combo. Any suggestions that won't break the bank? I'm not too concerned with video quality. Sound quality is more important because I teach music. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
