Posted: 03 Sep 2020 06:48 PM PDT I am looking to purchase a used PC that is quiet or silent. I was wondering what desktop PC features reduce ambient noise, and if there are any models or brands that I should strongly consider. I would prefer not to build the PC myself unless necessary. Budget is $400-2000. I want the computer to be able to handle dozens of open chrome tabs and screensharing during videochats without much slowdown. [link] [comments] |

How can i revive my tablet after deleting Google email? Posted: 04 Sep 2020 03:55 AM PDT Hi chaps! Couple of months ago i bought an android tablet (Vivax TPC-804 3G) quite cheaply, which i intended to use as test device, and when i logged into it, i used my already existing Google account. However, i decided to shut that email down due to having a bunch of spam emails from various websites and deleted it. Now i am locked out of my tablet because i no longer have access to my email, i tried retrieving the Google account but i get the message that it doesn't exist, that it is deleted. So what can i do to make my tablet functional? [link] [comments] |
Unwanted search history appears on my search history on websites such as streaming ones HELP! Posted: 03 Sep 2020 07:42 PM PDT Hi, I've been looking for answers for my situation, without success. I don't even know if this is the correct place for that question (feel free to guide me to the correct place otherwise). This is awkward to explain, but last time I've been to streaming websites such as Fmovies for example, when I clicked on the search bar, the suggestions that appeared were all about porn search I did on small porn websites (Those starting ones trying to make it big like Pornhub). Is this caused because small websites sometimes would use something like the same free to use search engines ? Anyway, my real question is: are there any ways to delete those old search history ? That would be awkward if I was to browse a normal film with someone and this was to happen ! Thank you for your answers and sorry if it's the wrong place to ask this kind of question ! Posted: 04 Sep 2020 01:05 AM PDT I use the Samsung internet on my Samsung phone. I actually know nothing about technology and i don't even know anything other than this phone is some type of "galaxy" phone. I use only wifi (phone is not connected to mobile network). What started happening about a week ago is that every time i tried to log into reddit, it kept saying "incorrect password" but for some reason if i would go into the privacy settings and "delete all" the cache, cookies, history, location data, etc. It would let me login fine, once i deleted that stuff. My password isn't wrong. This has been happening every single time i tried to login until yesterday. Yesterday, same song and dance "incorrect password" i go and delete everything, and it STILL says incorrect password. I look and despite me "deleting everything" it didn't actually delete the search history or reddits cookies they put on my internet. So i manually delete those and it let me login just fine. Again, the password is not actually incorrect. Today, same thing, only it's showing that everything is actually deleted and it is still saying incorrect password and won't let me login. I have 2 accounts and have tried both and both say "incorrect password". I know i didn't get "hacked" or anything because it was still letting me login with same password as long as i deleted ALL the browsing data, but it won't let me today. I also noticed that there is a setting in the internet to "allow automatic downloads" i know for a fact i had turned that off when i got this phone because i didn't like the sound of "automatic downloads" but now that setting is turned on to allow them. What is going on? Only affects reddit, no other websites. [link] [comments] |

Even having a 100 mbps internet plan, why are my download speeds limiting to 1.2mbps? Posted: 03 Sep 2020 01:55 PM PDT
So initially when my plan was 25mbps i used to get a speed of 3 to 3.5 mbps and it was pretty good, speeds were consistent both when i am downloading on google Play Store or chrome or BitTorrent. Fast forward to 3 months i upgraded my plan to 100mbps, i don't why but my speed stopped at 1.2mbps on chrome or playstore or BitTorrent. Why ia this happening, i tried to remove cache, removed browsing history, uninstalled excessive apps etc, but still there's no change. Btw i am using a private DNS , "dns.adguard.com" to avoid ads, I have checked speed by removing it but still the speed is same. Any ideas about how to resolve this prob. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Sep 2020 04:27 PM PDT I am an online seller and a month ago I just got scammed. A buyer has my identity stolen (photos, address, my citizen's number and also my other family member's). Now he uses my identity to fraud someone else, mainly my relatives. Is there anyone here who is able to track down phone number? I really want to track the location and the owner of the number he uses to fraud my relatives. I have filed a police report 2 weeks ago after a package under my name arrived at my place (i didn't order it, the scammer scammed other seller). But it would be really helpful if I can help make this process quicker because I don't want this to have more victims. Thank you! [link] [comments] |
Audio Jacks not functioning on my computer. Posted: 03 Sep 2020 07:25 PM PDT So I built a new computer recently and I have had a couple minor issues. The main one being I cannot get sound out of my speakers or headset when I plug them up to the 3.5mm audio jacks either on the front of the case or even straight into the motherboard. Now these jacks worked for the first month I had the computer, but randomly stopped working. Now, I know there is no problem with the speakers or headset because when I use my 3.5mm jack to USB adapter, they both work perfectly fine. I just want help and an explanation as to why these jacks don't work. Also hoping for a solution. [link] [comments] |
I want to run two OS's as KVM machines with a virtual machine management OS Posted: 03 Sep 2020 09:03 AM PDT Okay so I'm not 100% sure this is possible but I figured it's worth trying. I want to be able to run both Linux and Windows simultaneously as VMs, and have their graphics loads handled by my dedicated GPU and have a super light operating system dedicated to just managing the VMs and switching between them when I need to and I'd have that OS running just using the on board Intel UHD graphics. On top of this, my motherboard only has two video outputs and I have three screens, so would it be possible to render the light OS using my onboard graphics but route the display through my GPU's outputs? Again, I know that this is unlikely, and even if it is doable it's going to be a complex task but I'm a savvy sysadmin and always up for a challenge, so if anyone has any answers to this that would be great, I don't need an in depth play by play but if you could point me in the right direction I can work from there. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Sep 2020 04:57 PM PDT How can I find an owner of a found iPhone? I found it inside a purse inside my company's lost and found. It could have been in there for 1 month or 1 year, idk. There's no emergency contact info set up, and the cellular network has been turned off, so I can't even try and use Siri for help. I know you can use the IMEI number on the phone if you know the cellular network, but that sounds a little cumbersome. Any easier ways I can get the phone back to its owner? [link] [comments] |

Normally how long until Telegram responds to me after I filed an impersonation report? Posted: 03 Sep 2020 12:14 PM PDT Yesterday I found out that I had been impersonated twice against both of my usernames so I sent an email to their address kindly asking them to delete or lock these accounts, but it's been a day now and I haven't heard anything back. I'm a notable figure on a throwaway account myself so it really matters much for me. Normally how long until Telegram responds to me after I filed an impersonation report? [link] [comments] |

Does anyone know what this is? Posted: 03 Sep 2020 11:39 AM PDT I participated in a science competition in 7th grade (2014) and at the end of the competition all competitors got given this. I still to this day have no idea what it is. If anyone knows what it is I would be very greatful. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Sep 2020 11:37 AM PDT Hey reddit tech wizards. I recently received a Chromebook from my school to use. I know for a fact that it does have monitoring software, and I am concerned about the school using it against me in some way. Currently, I am running it through my computer on a hotspot, and I was wondering how I could stop say, GoGuardian from broadcasting a constant video of my screen to ...people. I know I can run a VPN through the hotspot, but not sure how to block the video streaming of a unwanted software. [link] [comments] |

What is the best way to mix in a backing track for a livestream? Posted: 03 Sep 2020 11:11 AM PDT I'm not really sure where the right place is to ask this question! I am developing a livestreaming website. The livestreaming part is all done through the web browser, using javascript and WebRTC. Some livestreamers will be using the phone/computer microphone (and camera), some will have external mics. I would like people to be able to (for example) sing over a pre-recorded backing track, but I'm not sure what is the best way to do this in terms of both quality and synchronization. One obvious option is just that the performer plays the backing track over speakers while they sing. While this is clearly the best option in terms of sync, it loses out on quality. The second option is to mix in the backing track with the publishing somehow, but I presume this will put the backing track and livestream out of sync. Are there any other options? Is there any way to make the second option sync up, or any suggestions on how to get the best quality for the first option? In my dreams, I'd love for the backing track to be a video that is a picture-in-picture with the livestream, but I'm pretty sure this is not possible to do in real time (without sync issues). Please tell me if I'm wrong! Thanks. [link] [comments] |
