Does portforawarding add a fee? Posted: 07 Sep 2020 04:24 AM PDT Does portforawarding add an additional fee? I am asking this because I will not be able to use my phone if it does and I dont really want to risk it :/ [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Sep 2020 04:04 AM PDT Hi! I can't decide between the 7th gen with 126 GB or the Air with 64 GB. I've heard that the air has more longevity, but i don't know if it's enough memory-wise. I'm a second year med student (5 more years to go) planning on using it to read my books and take some notes (I'm still a sucker for handwritten things). Ideally, I wanted to buy something that would still be working in 5 years. These are the prices in my country: Ipad 7th gen: 470€ Ipad Air (+Airpods): 556€ I currently have a MacBook Air where i do most of my uni work and store some files. What do you recommend? What type of USB am I looking for? Posted: 06 Sep 2020 09:54 PM PDT I have an old Lacie Rugged with the type of connection shown here: https://www.pcmag.com/news/lacies-rugged-drive-gets-an-upgrade I need to replace the USB cable (sadly, this is before the attached thunderbolts, so it's not the exact same model) and I am completely forgetting the name of the product, can someone please remind me! How do I check to see if there is an underground tunnel to my basement? Posted: 06 Sep 2020 07:31 PM PDT I suspect that a neighbour has access to my house via a tunnel built underground to my basement. Are there any ways to check for an underground tunnel to my house? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Sep 2020 04:26 PM PDT I have a 1st generation ipad pro, 12.9 display and its severely cracked. To repair the screen would cost me about $350. It's not worth it. I ended up buying a new ipad pro. But I am selling my old one. I'm selling the 1st generation ipad pro and the 1st generation apple pencil. Is $200 a fair price for both? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Sep 2020 12:06 AM PDT I still live with my dad and a month and a half ago i had a Lenovo laptop I bought from Best Buy that he inserted something into one of the USB ports and pulled it back out instantly while the laptop was closed and off and connected to the house WiFi(my dads house WiFi) After this, he was able to see everything I typed on that laptop from then on from afar on some device. So I returned the laptop to the same Best Buy I got it from and now I want the same exact Lenovo laptop I got but brand new. Not open sale. Brand new, same exact one, but brand new. So if I get the same one, but brand new from the same Best Buy I got the first one, bring it to the house, my house but more literal terms, my dads house, and I set it up and connect it to the WiFi and start typing, if my dad didn't insert anything into any usb on this new laptop, but it's the same Laptop just brand new and I'm typing while it's connected to the WiFi, so he can see what websites I visit, but can he see what I type? And why? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Sep 2020 11:42 PM PDT Bought a car radio/navi/media (no idea what the proper term should be) which has built in wifi/3g/4g. How exactly does this work? Is it permanently connected to the internet? Is there a certain amount of internet data use? I've looked all over but found nothing and am genuinely curious as to how this works. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Sep 2020 08:45 PM PDT Not the most tech-savvy person here! I have a mac and I'm using the Chrome browser for reference. I was wondering how I would be able to use the inspect function to modify a link that I click on to download say a pdf and but change so that I click on the same link but rather download(open?) something directly from my computer. It's a bit harder than changing the font and I was hoping that there was some way to do this! Thanks to anyone who helps! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Sep 2020 06:58 PM PDT I am currently employed by a college to manage technical support for students and staff. My Superior has asked me to record all classes, and I am attempting to find the best microphone to use for a large room. The classroom I am recording in have a good bit of echo, I have been using my podcast condenser microphone. Are there any recommendations I can get on a good microphone that would work well to record a teacher teaching from the front of the classroom as my boss wants the camera and microphone at the back of the classroom? Posted: 06 Sep 2020 10:37 AM PDT Hello I need to get a computer to run a specific piece of software but I do not understand what GHZ is or if this computer works. Here is the computer I am proposing to buy: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-vivobook-15-6-laptop-amd-ryzen-5-8gb-memory-amd-radeon-vega-8-512gb-ssd-silver-silver/6420333.p?skuId=6420333 The requirements are here: https://examsoft.force.com/emcommunity/s/article/Examplify-Minimum-System-Requirements-for-Windows the computer doesn't list hard drive, so I dont know if it works. Also it has Processor Speed (Base)Info 2.1 gigahertz Processor ModelInfo AMD 2nd Generation Ryzen 5 Processor Model Number AMD® Ryzen™ 5 3500U Processor But is a 2.1 GHZ as good as CPU Processor: 2.0 GHz Intel i3 processor or equivalent ? Obviously 2.1 is over 2.0 but Im not sure if this processor type is as good as this i3 thing. [link] [comments] |

Lack of Ipad Pro 12.9 4th Gen cases? Posted: 06 Sep 2020 01:03 PM PDT Hi, I was looking into buying an iPad Pro 12.9 inch 2020 4th gen model but I noticed there's a lack of cases in the market for this particular model. I thought it was because it just came out but the 11 that came out this year had a lot of cases available. I was wondering if this is something simple that someone can explain or if I'm missing some common knowledge about why this is happening? The sites I've looked at are AliExpress (for cheaper and cuter cases) and Amazon, but they kind of lack in variety while the 11 has a lot of choices to choose from. [link] [comments] |
When I format my custom-built PC will I have the option to select which drive installs windows? Posted: 06 Sep 2020 09:04 AM PDT I used to have windows installed on a "slower" SSD, but I'm looking to have it on my M.2 now. Will this be an option while following this video? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 06 Sep 2020 03:24 PM PDT If someone inserted a keylogger into a USB port on my Lenovo laptop from Best Buy when it was connected to their house WiFi and I returned it to the same Best Buy I got it from and got a brand new one of the same exact kind from the same best Buy, would they still be able to see what I type on that new but exact same laptop via WiFi when I type on it while it's connected to their same house WiFi it was connected to when the keylogger was inserted in the laptop? And why? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Sep 2020 11:27 AM PDT I'm looking into buying a robotic lawnmower, but I'd like to get some recommendations from people who have one. My lawn isn't too big. A 1/4 acre mower should be more than capable. It is a little hilly but no dramatic inclines. If you have a robotic lawnmower, what is your opinion of it? Would you recommend the brand/model? Why or why not? [link] [comments] |
Tips before performing a full wipe on my PC? Posted: 06 Sep 2020 07:41 AM PDT Lately, my PC has been running slow and I fear it's time I have to perform a full wipe. On the bright side of this - I get to move windows from my "slow" SSD to my M.2! Do you guys have any "tips" for me before I perform this full wipe? [link] [comments] |
Choosing Open Source Forum Software Posted: 06 Sep 2020 11:09 AM PDT I've been wanting to start a forum for writing stories for some time now. This week I have been looking at various forum softwares deciding which will ultimately provide the features I'm looking for. No single piece of software will meet all my needs, so I'll have to develop (or contract out) plugins. That being said I have some questions for anyone that might know: 1) I love the look, style, and organization of F95Zone.to. When I think of what I would like, many of the feature ideas come from elements I've seen there. I can't seem to figure out what forum software it's using, however. If I were to guess, it's PHPBB, but honestly I would not know how to confirm this. It would be valuable because it gives me an idea of what's possible with the software. 2) Key features I need are these: a) Rating of posts in certain forums (i.e. only able to rate stories) * I really like the review tab F95Zone has for it's games, how the original post also holds the reviews. Very helpful when deciding on whether or not a story might be your cup of tea. That would be incredible on a story forum. b) Tagging system per post with search ability (stories only) * ideally only admins could make tags, but users could apply from the predefined list c) Only Authors can post in the stories forums d) Disable quoting initial post * I would like to make it so users can't quote a story, because lets face it, some yahoos will and that makes the comment section crazy bloated e) Post templates for specific forums to simplify making new posts providing clarity as to what's required f) Advanced formatting of posts for stories * I want the stories to be novel formatted only on story forums: - All text Justified like novels - First line of every paragraph indented g) Patreon (or other donation sites) links on Author profiles so they can gain support for their writing This is what I have mapped out so far. Please, if you have any insight, I'd love to hear it. [link] [comments] |

Use android as input device for laptop - Software lookup Posted: 06 Sep 2020 07:51 AM PDT I have a laptop which has broken camera, broken micro-phone, broken speaker. As work from home going on it's full pace, I must attend meetings at any cost. Previously I used my Android device to do so, and my laptop together, as laptop has bigger screen and it has all my work. But for some reason, in our meeting's everyone can join with one account only. So I need to find a way to use my Android(Redmi Note 8) as speaker, micro-phone, camera and feed these streams to my PC as USB or using local-network. Then join to conference with laptop. Can anyone please help me find such open-source tools ? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
