Tech Support - Hitachi smart TV

    Hitachi smart TV

    Posted: 27 Sep 2020 03:34 AM PDT

Recently bought a new smart TV, Hitachi android based operating system and it keeps crashing. It was completely fine for a while but is now continuously crashing when we try and watch Netflix, YouTube or any other apps.

We have tried a system restart before, and I'm not an expert but I'm somewhat tech savvy if anyone has any advice.

    Thanks!

A website or application for usernames

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 09:25 PM PDT

Its use isn't just for finding usernames of people, but also finding what word is used most commonly in the beginning and end of a username.
For example, the beginners for my usernames are "Phantom" and "Phantom_" and used at the beginning of my usernames.
Why ask? I've noticed a lot of people using those same beginnings as I do (which I knew would happen but not to a large degree.) so, I wanted to know how many people actually use it and what are other common beginners and ends for usernames!

    Senior Tracker

    Posted: 27 Sep 2020 12:29 AM PDT

Hello, my grandmother is moving to my city and so I am going to be the lone caretaker of her. Due to myself being busy for majority of the day, I am looking for a device to:

    1. track heart rate / possibly detect suspicious falls
    2. notify me on my phone immediately in such cases
    3. give me the ability to locate her at all times

I was going to buy an apple watch + an iPhone for her just to accomplish this but that's a bit pricey. So if there are better alternatives I would love to hear from you.

    Thank you!

    Headphone combiner and microphone

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 11:13 PM PDT

I saw a post a long while back after trying to get answers. I basically want to get audio from my phone and PlayStation. My phone for a Discord call and my PlayStation to hear the gameplay. Would a microphone connected to my headphones go through on the reverse splitter/combiner?

Looking for guidance on whether I should get a degree in Software Engineering or Cyber Security

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 09:52 AM PDT

I'm planning on going back to school online and am having a hard time choosing which field would I be most likely to get a job that fits my life.

I live in a town in the midwest, population about 18k with some large manufacturing companies located here. There is a mid sized city about 60 miles away. I have kids and would hopefully like to have job that I wouldnt need to move for.

Both degrees seem exiting and interest me, but what kind of a positions could I expect to get in my area with either degree? Would one degree provide more long term job security than the other? Is one more likely to allow me to work from home? And could anyone tell me what personality types might be better suited for the type of position one might get with either degree?

    Thanks!

I want to upgrade my old Alienware´s memory

Looking for a punch clock device, maybe as a USB drive

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 06:00 AM PDT

Here is what I am looking to find:

    1. a piece of hardware that has one or more buttons on it
    2. when I press a button, it logs the date and time into a CSV file (kind of like a punch clock)
    3. data is stored locally at first and does not require an always-on bluetooth or wifi connection to log the data
    4. data can be trasferred to a computer or a google sheet a. manually such as by USB or microSD card, b. wirelessly such as bluetooth to a smartphone app or over wifi or c. both manually and wireless options

    Do any of these exist?

    1. A USB drive that has an event log button on it which stores the logs onto a CSV file on the USB drive
    2. Some kind of inexpensive punch clock device that logs events into a CSV file
    3. A DIY setup that uses buttons with an Arduino, maybe an Arduino Nano
    4. A used/inexpensive Android smartphone that can be set up so that pressing one of the hardware buttons (such as volume up and down) works as an event log

Is my phone listening and then using that info to target ads?

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 01:02 PM PDT

I have an ongoing medical condition which is well managed. Haven't searched anything for it many years as I've got good treatment in place and going well.

However, l was talking about it with a curious family member today.

Tonight, I'm getting ads on my local news website for all sorts of treatments for my medical condition. Dr Google tells me to switch off and log out of Facebook. However, I don't have any social media except for Reddit and have never talked about it here (that I can remember).

My medical condition is not common enough like diabetes or asthma that the ads could be a coincidence - it's a far less common skin condition and you don't hear the name of it very often.

I do have a new iPhone 11 though. Has it listened to my family member conversation and then targeted advertising my way?

Are there any laptops / portable PCs without keyboard and touchpad ?

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 10:44 AM PDT

In almost every laptop I have used, the keyboard and touchpad is never built to last. I end up using a small external keyboard and mouse anyway.

Are there any devices which are as portable as a laptop? My foldable keyboard and mouse take tiny amount of space anyway.

Something capable of 16gb ram and a graphics card?

How to see who liked/seen a message in a viber community?

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 09:28 AM PDT

Dumb question, but here it goes. So, you know how you can press "info" on a message in a group chat, and you can see who seen it and liked it? When you do it on a message in community, it only shows the number of likes on that message.

So, how can you see who seen a certain message inside a community?

Is there a chip or service that can track someone or thing, and give a heat map of where they go in a house? For example, showing where the cat frequently goes in the house and providing a heat map to show his favorite spots.

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 09:11 AM PDT

Most of the question is in the title. I am wondering if a tracking (GPS) service exists that generates a heatmap of where someone frequents!
