Can I make a gif play when my phone rings

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 09:32 PM PDT

Is there any way you make a gif play when a cell phone rings? Haven't been able to find anything by searching, just how to set songs as ringtones.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Tesla model S display in a regular car. Would this work?

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 09:42 PM PDT

Just wondering cause wanting to buy a new car, nothing too new but not too old, and wanting it be a new project car.

Excluding software, would this even be possible? Like

taking out the radio, old nav, AC controls and all that?

Just curious cause this seems like a great idea to add into a car (really tech savvy)

Hey, I need a non-web todo list app that can quickly open a new instance on the current virtual desktop

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 04:33 PM PDT

Hey, I need a todo list app that can quickly open a new instance on the current virtual desktop

    1. You can just click on the icon bar and open up the app on the current virtual desktop, and can just start typing what you need to.
      1. Offline desktop would do this. Web apps doesn't allow you to do this
    2. The new instance would open to where you are at, and sync in real-time with the other instances opened
    3. Have tried a bunch of stuff, they don't do this. Listing them unlikely would be helpful

Is there anything you use that does this?

Docking Station that allows hot swap between Macbook Air and Windows PC?

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 01:32 PM PDT

    Hi all :)

    Hoping someone here can help.

I've recently started a new job where I have been given a company Macbook air, as of tomorrow I need to work from home for the foreseeable future. I am in search of a docking station that will allow me to connect all my bits (list below) into it, work on my Macbook during the day and then use my personal PC in the evening without having to unplug and rep plug everything in. The Macbook only has 2 USB C connections and I assume I need to keep one free for charging purposes? The company said they will pay, just need to find something that will work and doesn't cost a stupid amount.

    Bits to plug in:

    • 1 Monitor with DisplayPort or HDMI
    • 1 Monitor with HDMI
    • USB Keyboard
    • USB Mouse
    • USB Headset

I have no idea if something like this even exists or this is even possible. My knowledge of Macs is very little XD

    Question about reinstalling Windows 7

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 11:53 AM PDT

So I know that when you reinstall Windows 10, it will automatically make a backup of the files ( like desktop files, documents, the disk where the Windows 10 was installed - aswell as backup the os before reinstalling ( windows old folder ), if I'm correct ). I need to reinstall Windows 7 but I'm not sure if it will remove everything ( including files and folders on the disk where the operating system isn't installed ) or will it backup only the files and folders from the disk where Windows 7 is installed and not remove files from the other disk. ( just like 10 does ). I know that Windows 7 ran out of support ( I got 10 on my other computer ) but I need it reinstalled.

Does it remove everything? Also, how to reinstall Windows 7?

    Should i undervolt my cpu

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 11:03 AM PDT

I recently decided to check my temps while playing minecraft, and realized my cpu was hitting 90-95 degrees celcius, and after looking it up turns out it's not an exactly safe temperature, i have an i7-9750h in a laptop and I'd like to know if i should undervolt to extend my cpu's life, and if so, how to do it.

Is my power strip the cause for interference and can it wreck my stuff?

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 07:52 AM PDT

I have a 3 gang power strip connected to my CPU, Monitor and Smart TV whilst the strip and my audio is connected to my power outlet. Well, my town had a black out for a couple of hours and when it came back I turned on the CPU asap. No problem with my CPU but my freaking TV played the audio as if it had turned on the screen was off the whole time.

Sidenote: I don't know if this'd help but my power strip and my outlet both have a switch. Whenever I turn the former off for the former My audio(connected to the outlet) makes a buzzing sound until I switch off the outlet.

How is all apps running on x86 are compatible with AMD's new Zen architecture?

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 04:44 AM PDT

All apps are facing problems in adapting to the ARM CPUs since they are not optimized for ARM but how is it that when AMD launched its Zen Architecture then all apps are portable to those CPUs so fast ? And in some cases they run faster on Zen compared to x86.
