I got a work laptop, can I use it on public WiFi?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 04:23 PM PST

So I received a work laptop this week and my phone has been delayed. I know most people with a laptop (management level) have cell phones and I've heard them say they VPN in through their phone when they are home with their computers.

Is it safe to say if the computer lets me use it on my home/public WiFi I'm allowed to be using it? I would imagine if they didn't want people accessing their computer from home/public it would stop you some how...

    Thank you!

My company is developing innovative wearable pc now(P.S. OS Linux, ~300$). It will include touch screen and manipulator, that will allow you always see the screen without obstacles. It also must supports IoT elements via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. So the question is what function we should realise on it?

How come even though I use the bleach dispenser in a washing machine, the clothes I have still get damaged permanently with white stains?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 04:37 PM PST

I just read online that you can add bleach directly in the washing machine and it'll be able to dilute the clorox so much that it won't permanently ruing your clothes with white decolorization while at the same time it'll be able to use bleach completely at its original intent of not just cleaning tough stains but also killing near 100% of all germs on your clothes.

I tested the bleach dispenser hole today and poured a generic Great Value bleach into it. My clothes still got ruined with white spots which supposedly is permanent from bleach.

Why did this happen? Were the websites I read wrong?

How do I recover the installation key for an old computer game?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 09:10 PM PST

I have the discs for some computer games I played when I was very young, but I do not have the installation keys for several of them. Are these games just junk now?

What are some top Wifi Routers for home use?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 03:25 PM PST

The only topics I could find on this sub were "best value" recommendations. I'm not too worried about cost, but I need something that is dual-band, high performance, and can handle a larger house with brick in the walls. I have a network of extenders around the property, but I'm in need of a new router. What are some good heavy hitters that I can dump a chunk of money on?

Got a disc in the mail from Japan, can't play it on VLC. It's a VRO file, it seems.

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 04:48 AM PST

I received a DVD from Japan after my dad and brother were featured on a reality show. The studio sent a DVD recording of the show after we flew back to Singapore. When I read the disc in my laptop using VLC, I only see green and grey spots. The format is in .vro . What are my options here? Is it encrypted, do I have to decrypt it?

    Bypass iPod touch password

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 10:12 AM PST

Hello all! My best friend passed away a few years ago and I'm helping her mom go through her things, and we found her iPod Touch. Her mom would like to see the songs and pics she had saved, for sentimental reasons.

We have seen all the videos about factory resetting the device, but we are not interested in that. We don't want to wipe it clean. We want to see what's inside.

We 100% are not trying to break into a stolen iPod. I can provide documents to prove that this belongs to my deceased best friend.

So I have two questions: 1-with the iPod 5th gen- was there ever a "if you try to input the passcode too many times we will wipe the contents of this device" type of protocol, like how we have now? Because if not, we don't have an issue using brute force to try all the passcode options until one finally works ...but of course- we don't want to try too many, and then remove all data

2-does anyone know of a toolkit type of thing we can download and use to bypass the password? I found YouTube videos talking about a Gecko Toolkit but it seems that you can't download that anymore.

Is there a place where I can download a ton of free "Lofi Hip-Hop beats" Mp3s?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 10:14 AM PST

Since they're just beats I would think there's gotta be a bunch of no copyright songs. So is there Some where I can legally download 100s of mp3s of these?
