Is there a way to check what websites I've created an account on in the past?

    Posted: 12 Sep 2020 08:02 PM PDT

When I was younger, I was pretty stupid and signed up for a lot of stuff with my old gmail account. Is there a way to check what sites I created an account on so I can delete them? I don't think I've had the google setting where it saves your passwords on since the start so that's not really an option. Any ideas?

Migliori portatili per video editing e gaming?

    Posted: 13 Sep 2020 02:50 AM PDT

Scusate l'ignoranza. Non me ne intendo di PC/portatili. Sto cercando un portatile che non si blocca quando faccio partire dei software di videoediting. Gaming è un opzione, meglio se riesce a fare bene anche quello. Grazie

Background windows stuff is taking almost 4 gb of my ram. How do I reduce that amount?

    Posted: 12 Sep 2020 07:33 PM PDT

I checked my task manager and found out that without discord or any games opened, my memory was at 40%. I only have 8 gb of ram and I need at least 4 gb to run discord and my game at the same time. How do I reduce the amount of ram windows background services use?

Record 24 fps YouTube video with OBS

    Posted: 12 Sep 2020 10:31 PM PDT

I'm trying to record a small section of a YouTube video using OBS. The video is 24 fps, and I have OBS set to record at 24 fps, but the recorded frames seem to go in and out of sync (i.e. there are a few seconds where the video is smooth, and then a few seconds where it's choppy, etc.).

Is there any way to fix this?

    I'm using OBS 64-bit on Windows 10

    Anyone recommend a 1440p 144htz monitor?

    Posted: 12 Sep 2020 10:17 PM PDT

Hello! I was wondering about getting a 1440p 144htz laptop for a price of $2000. I've found 4K laptops, 1080p laptops, and a few 1440p laptops, but the 1440p I've found so far are hot garbage, and I would prefer not having to settle for 1080p for a high refresh rate. Was hoping for a second opinion, because I am at a loss. If the laptop you recommend has notable problems (performance, tearing, color accuracy, CPU temperature, fan noise, or keyboard) please list them. Also list the specifications, please. Thanks!

Microsoft Surface Pro 7 i5 or i7? What does it mean for me

    Posted: 12 Sep 2020 02:42 PM PDT

    Hello,

I hope this is the right place to ask this.

So I am looking for a new laptop and think the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 is what would suit me, also is it good to buy the 7 or are the older ones good too?

Anyways, the i5 and i7 have a big enough price difference that I can't decide what is better for me.

So here is the question what is the difference between the i5 and the i7 ??

I know that they are processors and the i7 should be "better", because of the price. But what does it mean for me the user, what are the differences?

    Thanks

Can I buy a single PC for two houses?

    Posted: 12 Sep 2020 03:59 PM PDT

For context, my parents are divorced, and I drive between their houses multiple times a week. I also want to buy a PC (and I don't want a laptop), and I don't have the budget to buy two pc's either. However, I'm starting to worry about how possible it would be to carry it between houses. I have the budget to buy two monitors, and I already have two keyboards, Mouses, and headsets, so all I really need to bring between the houses is the PC itself. But would it be too heavy? How long would I have to have it off before driving for it to be cold enough to carry? Would transporting it so much cause damage to the pc itself, and would the fact that I'm using two (of the same) monitor also cause issues? The case I'm using is Rosewell Gaming Thor V2, and the PC's parts combined costs $1500 dollars.

    NAS HDD Question

    Posted: 12 Sep 2020 05:17 PM PDT

    Hello I have a Qnap TS-253 Pro with 2 x 10TB HDD in a Raid 1, and i have a Qnap UX-500p 5 bay expansion unit with 5 x 6TB HDD in a raid 5 connected.

My question is that i am going to replace the 2 x 10TB HDD in the TS-253 Pro with 2 x 16TB HDD. The existing 2 x 10TB drives from the TS 253 Pro I am wanting to upgrade the 6TB drives in the expansion unit. Obviously will be purchasing brand new 3 x 10TB drives for the unit but do i have to delete the data on the 2 used 10 TB HDD before installing them or will they just be reformatted upon installation? I'm not looking to keep data on these drives.

Is there a way to disable specific sound outputs or soundwaves in windows 10?

    Posted: 12 Sep 2020 05:16 PM PDT

So I play an older game where it would be nice if I could disable some sounds that come out of it. You can't do it in the game itself it's either disable all sounds or play all sounds. Was wondering if there was a way to do it with a 3rd party app or within windows where I can find certain soundwaves and just mute them?

Recommendations for External Antennas for my 4G Home Broadband

    Posted: 12 Sep 2020 08:35 PM PDT

    Hi Everyone,

I recently just change my internet plan from Cable to a 4G Home Broadband as I had no other choices. It's definitely an improvement from my previous plan however it's not as stable. I've recently learnt about external antennas to strengthen my connection but I'm a little unsure as to how to go about it. I don't want to fork out excess amounts of money just for it to not work.

The modem that I have is the Huawei B818-263. What are the best options for an external antenna that is preferably indoors or outdoors but doesn't require being bolted up high eg. suction cups that can be attached on walls or windows.

I'll continue to research on it before I decide but I thought there might be someone out there who's familiar with the subject. :)

MacBook Pro Flexgate: Will Apple ever offer a service program for the issue?

    Posted: 12 Sep 2020 10:17 AM PDT

Pretty fucking crazy that a damaged ribbon cable worth mere 6$ costs the users a 600$ screen replacement to get the device working again. I mean, imagine designing a laptop with a "hardwired" cable that has to bend over a "sharp" corner every time you flip open the system and integrating the cable to the entire display unit... Sure you have to "think different" to engineer such shitty designs.

Can I buy a digital wall clock that is connected to the internet?

    Posted: 12 Sep 2020 11:23 AM PDT

The only one I can see is the Amazon Echo wall clock see and that is unfortunately analogue. I'm looking for a digital one that is also connected to WiFi.

    Where can I get one?

Chromecast vs Fire Stick vs Apple TV?

    Posted: 12 Sep 2020 03:54 PM PDT

I am about to move into my first home and am trying to decide my home entertainment setup. My wife and I watch TV (via streaming) a LOT, and don't really care about cable. We cancelled our cable connections 3 years ago.

We've been debating between Chromecast, Fire Stick and Apple TV (4K versions) and get more and more confused every time we search.

What do people on this sub have / would recommend?

If it's at all relevant, my wife has an Android phone and I have an iPhone.

    Circumventing zoom meetings

    Posted: 12 Sep 2020 01:48 PM PDT

Hi all, I'm looking for a way to circumvent sitting through zoom meetings by intentionally making it look like my internet connection is crappy. I want to pixelate my image and reduce the refresh rate of the video I am sending to zoom and if possible make the video freeze or cut out for a few minutes while I stand up and walk around. I can't skip these meetings entirely, but I still need an excuse to not be there for a while if need be without making it seem like I am just pissing around. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Will the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 be good for taking notes at school?

    Posted: 12 Sep 2020 12:24 PM PDT

I'm planning on getting a tablet with keyboard case/cover, as my school recommend a laptop or tablet for schoolwork (we can't pass paper back and forth anymore, so everything is online/on computers). My laptop isn't reliable enough, but I can't afford a new one - so a tablet is pretty much my only choice. I only need it to run word, teams and miscellaneous school stuff. Will it be okay, or do I need to find a cheap laptop instead?

Looking for a good pair of wireless headsets.

    Posted: 12 Sep 2020 12:15 PM PDT

I'm looking for a good pair of wireless headsets that I can use for any purpose basically. I'm mainly looking for these features:

    • Good Audio Quality
    • ANC (preferably)
    • Stereo works while using the mic (so I don't have awful sound quality while using the mic)
    • Good microphone quality.

I'm currently thinking about the Corsair Virtuoso or the senheiser GSP370/670 but neither of those are noise cancelling. Does anyone have some good alternatives I should look into? Thanks.

    Router built into a clock.

    Posted: 12 Sep 2020 12:05 PM PDT

So i dont know if there already is such a thing but if routers work high up, why hasnt someone made a decorative wall clock with a wifi router built into it? Hide the antennas behind it, have it upteen different sizes and styles.

Every living room typically has a clock on the wall already or it at least wouldnt look outa place unlike this blinky light rectangles with antennas just sitting out... We already wall mount tvs and hide those cables so that's a non issue.

Why hasnt this been done or any reason why it wouldnt work?
